I like this song. It's a MUCH better song than "Shake it off". That stalled at #2. Mariah's 1st album will always be her best work to me, but I'm still a fan of most of her stuff.

i predicted it will do really good..though as a real mariah fan i wished Say Somethin was the real single. The video is kinda dull too. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

The original was pretty forgettable IMO.

At least the UK charts are fair and base it on sales as opposed to radio's agenda.

I love a comeback story and boy did she come back strong and prove all the haters wrong.

We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou

The original was pretty forgettable IMO. Excatly. I can barely tell them apart...that's probably why she released this new song on the new editon of the album...BTW, I think the original "Mimi" is still out and alongside the "platinum edition", so that will be great when people get it for Christmas and realize that they didn't get that song on the album..and then return it and buy that "platinum editon", adding to her sales.

I like a good comeback story but this is just as much about Clear Channel as it is Mariah. Behold last year's hit album, "Confessions" (sadly not on a dancefloor...).

Not a chance of that happening. The Prince single is a complete and utter flop. It only reached #96 on iTunes USA. I wouldn't be surprised if Motown/Universal is having second thoughts about how much money to invest in the promotion of this album. Does anyone know if Prince will give away his new CD like he did with 'Musicology'? That's probably his best bet.

It seems like there just wasn't enough hype this time round...and while "Te Amo Corazon" it's not excatly earth shattering. I think the reason "Musicology" did so well is because for a lot of people Prince was kind of out of the spotlight when it came ot making albums..."Rave" had questionable promotion but "Musicology"'s was amazing.

Well i have to disagree, The reason that MUSICOLOGY took off was the press surrounding the Grammys and the Media hype, the Album itself didnt really have a "Radio" hit, though "Call My name" got most airplay. The Sales and Attention was all generated by Prince doing appearances and things like that. Look at George Michaels "Patience" its peak sales week was because of an OPRAH appearance, also because of OPRAH appearances, artists like Lionel Richie and most recently Bon Jovi have seen almost 100% increases. It also must be noted that Mariahs First single off "Mimi", "its like that" did not fair well on the charts, it wasnt until Mariah started appearing everywhere that things changed. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Wrong! "It's Like That" peaked was a Top 20 Hot 100 hit and got immediate radio airplay upon it's release. It may not have been as big a hit as "We Belong Together" and the following singles from her album but it did a good job in bringing Mariah Carey back to the airwaves in a big way.
Prince? Not so lucky. | |

That;s kind of what I meant to say....all the stars were aligned...the Grammys, the appearances the tour....this time out, a lot of people are slightly familar with what Prince is currently doing and aren't all that interested.

Prince? Not so lucky. Top 20 isn't so great for Clear Channel's darling of 2005. The album didn't sell on the strengh of the first album...it was all the appearances that helped it stay on the charts.

It was promoted heavily from January-April.
