People tend to only remember The Isley Brothers for their slow jams except for us here on the org. The Isley Brothers had plenty of straight up hardcore funk and some of my favorites are:

Livin' In The Life/Go For Your Guns
Live It Up
Don't Let Up
Go All The Way
The Real Deal
Winner Takes All
People Of Today
Hope You Feel Better Love
Climbin' Up The Ladder
Showdown
The Pride
I Wanna Be With You
Hurry Up And Wait
Pass It On
Who Said
Love Fever
Mind Over Matter
Rockin' With Fire
Fight The Power
The Belly Dancer
Party Nights
It's A Disco Night (Rock Don't Stop)
Tell Me When You Need It Again
Inside You
Who's That Lady
It's Your Thing
Andy is a four letter word.

Between the years of 1971 and 1978, The Brothers Isley didn't put out a bad album. It's not like they had two albums during that period either; they put out eight LPs (not including the live album)!

Givin' It Back
Brother. Brother. Brother.
3+3
Live It Up
The Heat Is On
Harvest for the World
Go for Your Guns
Showdown

Live It Up and Harvest for the World are my favorites - not a single bad track on either one.

What about "Shout" (1959)? It was one of the first tracks and is one of the best. That's my opinion. It's also one of the most covered songs of all time.

They had some good songs back then too, but I'm partial to the 3+3 lineup.

One of my favorite bands EVER and Ernie Isley has been a huge influence on me as a guitarist. One major reason I adore The Isleys is that their love that they show for Hendrix through their music is crystal clear. A few faves;

Voyage To Atlantis
Ain't I Been Good To You
Fight The Power
Take Me To The Next Phase
Livin In The Life
That Lady
Summer Breeze
Who Loves You Better
The Pride
Live It Up
Hello, It's Me
For The Love Of You
Footsteps In The Dark
Hope You Feel Better Love
Midnight Sky
Here We Go Again
Say You Will
Don't Say Goodnight
Harvest For The World
Go All The Way
Climbin Up The Ladder
Groove With You

Can't go wrong with any of the above.
The holy trinity of 70's Isleys to me is:
3+3
The Heat is On
Go for Your Guns
By no means though is this exclusive. This is just the ones I gravitate to the most. They also have some great live stuff where Ernie is on FIRE (Machine Gun anyone)
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

For the love of you
In between the sheets
Choosy lover
Tonight is the night
Love is what you make
Foots steps in the dark
