Pet Shop Boys - Please The synths! The electronic beats! Pharrell Williams should be in a virtual heaven listening to this near perfect pop album. It contains the hit West End Girls and was one of the best albums of 1986. My favorite track on Please is Violence. Its the perfect marriage between Euro techno and Quiet Storm. I hear that they played Elton John's wedding party too. Give it up for the Pet Shop Boys!

I really want to buy the remastered verison of this with the bonus disc. "Please" and "Nightlife" are the only Pet Shop Boys discs I don't own yet. I'm waiting for the remaster of "Nightlife" as well which I'm sure will have awesome bonus material.

I don't own Nightlife. Are there plans to release a remastered version?

I think they've been talking about it for a few years and saw that it will now come out late next year. I should just buy the album. I love the "Nightlife" verison of "Closer To Heaven".

Please is a wonderful album.... so many strong tracks.
My personal favorite is Suburbua, although I prefer the single version. Did ya'll know that "Tonight is Forever" was originally slated to be a single, but it was passed over after the PSB gave a dismal performance of it on a TV show?

I love when Jimmy Fallon was the Pet Shop Guy

"What have I done, what have I done, what have I done to deserve this?..." I remember that. Apparently he is a fan and wanted to do a parody song of theirs on his album (which I don't think went anywhere dispite a Prince like single) and they dissaproved. He told a radio station this and they blew off the Boys by saying, "It's not like they don't need the money" and so on. They aren't doing that bad! America isn't the world and "Laffy Taffy", despite you're always playing it, is absurd!

Please isn't their best album. I recommend the bleak, heartbroken, post-AIDS Behaviour. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Apparently so, but I don't know when. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

You might need to listen to it a few times for it to sink in, but it's a keeper. "Bilingual" is the PSB album I like the least - too lightweight for my tastes, despite the great Discoteca and Before being on it. Behaviour usually ties with Very when people talk about the best PSB album, but for me there's no contest: Behaviour has it all. [Edited 12/24/05 7:48am] There are three sides to every story.
