A while ago there was a thread about greatest awards show performances and I named this Whitney performance as my favorite one. This wasnt just her best live performance but one of the best TV performances PERIOD.
She sang 'I Loves You Porgy' first then segued into 'And I Am Telling You' and then she ripped into her own diva anthem 'I Have Nothing' Her voice was pitch perfect and she blew the roof off the Shrine. I remember taping it and rewinding it over and over and over. It's bittersweet watching that now. But that performance alone puts to rest any arguments anyone had about her talent ability. This girl had the goods for sure. She could sing 'I Will Always Love You' til the buffalo poops but this was her shining moment. peace Every minute of last night is on my face today....

Even the moves were perfect!! The voice was AMAZING, and she looked stunning.
I wonder what she would have sounded if she tried to do that medley now...

I wonder what she would have sounded if she tried to do that medley now... Oh my god...it would never end.... She would end up talking most of the lyrics and calling Bob-ay out for a glass of water and a flop-sweat wipedown. peace Every minute of last night is on my face today....

"and i am telling you i will always love yooooouuu oooooh, BOB-AY, BOB-AY my HUSBAND!!!!" or something like that...

I'm really particular about my And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going. Whitney's is good. She does some dumb things toward the end, but her voice is in fine form.

Yes, no one can outsing Jennifer Holliday, but Whitney Houston put on a good show that night. I`ve heard Shirley Murdock`s version, and
