I actually liked the unplugged stuff...but then again...i like the raw, unproduced sounds....her voice was true on that album.....MisEducation was a great album, wonderful for comercial success....i heard that she was doing some stuff with the rest of the Fugee gang, maybe we'll see sumfin from them soon.

I can't imagine the pressure for having to follow up Miseducation.
That Unplugged was a letdown for a lot of listeners; Same 3 chords in every song, for two discs.

she's so over it's not even funny. no one gives a fuck anymore. people know she went all religious nuts (like worse than Prince) and it's been so long since Miseducation that I doubt anyone would care about another album. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I love her art. She's cool. She's gifted and true. The unplugged session was a revelation. She could get all the shit arranged and drop perfect bombs if she wanted to ,but she wanted to deliver it raw and true, and that was a great gift to all those who worship creativity and divine inspiration.
All those who diss her for just being herself, well:.... live in peace. Must be the same type of people who expect people (who are stars) not to age naturally. Peace to all truestone gollywow share the vibes through all time

So Angela, don't worry, if you take a good listen to the unplugged album , you will cherrish it.
And surely the next album, whenever it will come, will be something worth waiting for. [Edited 12/17/05 18:05pm] share the vibes through all time

Loved Miseducation. Couldn't stand unplugged. Her holier than thou routine is worse than Prince. Shame really, I love her voice and her songwriting was so good

loved that record and unplugged was sooo hot! She'll be back: greatness takes time.

guess she wanted to show with her unplugged session what making music is all about. Too many people nowadays just simply sample and cut up stuff in the computer and think that they are doing something dope.
To pick up an instrument, and even if you only take one, two or three chords,...if you are able to deliver such clear messages as Lauryn does,... then you are on the right track. share the vibes through all time

what is your problem with white people? i mean, really. its so pathetic that so many of your comments include the word "black," or "white," or "racist." and what makes it worse is that it's a major example of the pot calling the kettle black. oops. i said black. . [Edited 12/18/05 14:38pm]

No, she can't. People harp on and on about Mary J. singing off key (which is true sometimes), but Lauryn has the same problem. When it Hurts So Bad is full of off key singing. I liked exactly one track from Miseducation - Everything is Everything. Terribly overpraised album. I'm in no hurry for her to finish a proper follow up.

It's cause Mary is "Street" and Lauren is a "Bohemian Negro"; the content of Lauren's stuff is given much more weight. ...Not that Lauren isn't the real deal, but Mary exerts just as much strength and passion in her stuff. Honestly I like Mary, She's one of the most honest perfromers I've ever seen, she's even publicaly talked about her masturbation (and just not to sell records either or give some sexual facade I gotta give props for the Fugees Ready or Not which is superior to the Delfonics and J5 version and you'll never hear me say someone did better than the J5 Honestly win Lauren won those grammies I was one of the many people like , granted that my pick for best album that year woulda been Helloween's Better Than Raw, but still when she performed I was sitting there thinking (you know I said that shit outloud) She can't Sing

I didn't buy that one & the little bit I heard didn't make me wanna go to the store I dig Lauren She's talented, beautiful & (unlike people are saying here) she CAN sing And rap, she's the whole package. She's been off for a few years but I still have hope that she can work it out & make a comeback. She put her makeup back on now if she could just get her ass in the studio & out of those wigs she'd be a'iight

I love Lauryn Hill but I have stopped waiting for a new CD.Let's face it,she is just not interested in releasing music.I don't think she enjoys being a "star".She still likes to perform every now and then, but I doubt that she will ever release a new album. It's a shame because she was arguably the most interesting artist to emerge from the 90s imo.

Lauryn might sing off-key at times, but I hear alot of passion and power in her voice. She's one of the greatest modern-day soul singers, imo.I prefer her to Mary J.Blige,Alicia Keys...hell,basically,ALL of the other so-called R&B divas that are "hot" right now.

The Fugees are also touring Europe this winter, with a stop here in Hamburg...maybe they're using the group effort as an exercise to get their individual chops back up??? Who knows...but what I do remember is that Wyclef has always spent an inordinate amount of time over here playing stadium festivals as a solo artist, and "producing-guest appearing" on singers' records on this side of the pond; between the mega-pop concerts and guest appearances in European pop-r&b-ish videos I haven't been able to get his mug off my TV until say, the last year...
