Mary J. Blige - Time for a "Hits" Comp?

I was just listening to Mary's latest, The Breakthrough, earlier today and was glad to see her returning to true form. But later in the day while I was watching MTV Jams, they showed all of her videos in chronological order back-to-back highlighting everything she's done in her career. That's when it hit me that she should release a greatest hits compilation in a few years. There were songs she released that I had forgotten all about until I heard the first few bites of them.

14 years and 7 albums definitely ain't bad.

I was thinking it should include something along these lines:

Real Love
Reminisce
You Remind Me
Love No Limit
My Life
You Bring Me Joy
Be Happy
I'm Going Down
I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need (w/ Method Man)
I Can Love You
Love Is All We Need
Everything
Not Gon' Cry
All That I Can Say
Deep Inside
Your Child
Give Me You
Family Affair
No More Drama
Rainy Dayz
Love @ 1st Sight
Ooh!
Be Without You

Throw in one or two new/unreleased tracks and something like that could definitely take up two volumes. I was just thinking that. Thoughts?

She was supposed to release a greatest hits before this new album, but it was delayed at the last minute.

Hmm. I guess she decided that she wanted to get this new one out first.

It's been promoted heavily for weeks...

The album leaked roughly a week and a half ago, and was featured on MTV's Leak, as well. Since the album dropped today, it's popping up everywhere.

It's in the store today. Circuit City has it on sale for 8.99.

You can go to MTV toi hear it or VH1. The first single is called Be Without You. Terrence Howard plays her love interest in the video.

Sweet.I guess the success of this album should determine how it's gonna be released.

Back in late October, press releases went out for "Reminisce" her greatest hits package:

http://sev.prnewswire.com...005-1.html

But the buzz was so good on the new material they opted to save the new tracks done for Reminisce and put them on The Breakthrough in order to complete the album and release it before the Christmas.

I'm sure the greatest hits will follow in about 6 months.

Id love to see Seven Days on it. Its a Jam/Lewis composition and its one of my favorites by Mary.
