Not really. But I'd like to see Janet do something a la Pleasure Principle and actually dance on her own again. No stern over-rehearsed choreography, and actually flowing with the rhythm instead of just a series of poses.

So something like "Rhythm Nation" is just stern, over-rehearsed posing to you? neutral To each his own, but I always found it to be very fluid, intricate, hip-hop-influenced, and, well, just plain awesome.

another great janet vid dancing wise was "doesn't really matter". The whole tilt thing was cool, as were the moves in general. Not too nsync like, so they havn't dated badly.

i thougt the moves in pleasure principal were pretty naff.

Paula abdul's "cold hearted" and "the way that u love me" is so much better dancing wise, as is "knocked out". A non stop dance video.

Cold Hearted is her best.

nod It is her best video, and once I finally saw All That Jazz I understood its roots. I'm sure she was forthright with its influences, but I probably tuned it out at the time. lol I was sixteen. And as much as I loved the video for Straight Up, I was all eek when it beat Smooth Criminal for best choreography at the VMAs.

There was no way that anything in a category with Smooth Criminal should have won anything that year. That video is a masterpiece.

Yeah the all that jazz references were always obvious to me (as she says it in a interview on the vhs, then gushes about how much bob fosse liked her work- which is high praise indeed)

The orchestral, eerie keyboards on the solo are kinda cool.

"straight up" beat "smooth criminal"? Whilst straight up looks like nothign special, the freestyle moves still look good today. Alot better then janets pleasure principal. "forever ur girl" had some hot tap dancing in it.

Very Good. It's the last scene of Twin Peaks when Evil Agent Cooper comes out of the Black Lodge (as BOB) and someone asks him How's Annie? And all he can repeat with maniacal laughter is "How's Annie?"

Of course he liked her work. He had a huge ego and a lot of the moves were taken right from the movie! lol

They do? It's been about 10 years since I've seen it. I need to throw on my fishnets, policeman's hat, and high heels and reacquaint myself with the choreography.
