The title track is too saccharine for my taste and we shouldn't even discuss "Jimmy Jimmy" or "Love Makes the World Go Round".
Overall, it's a decent album and worth having. I agree with your review. To me,the album is worth having just for the song "Live To Tell",which is arguably her finest ballad.

I really like this album but must admit that I'm not that fond of Papa Don't Preach, Where's The Party and can't stand to listen to Jimmy, Jimmy. My faves are probably White Heat and Live To Tell.

"Papa Don't Preach"
Papa I know you're going to be upset 'Cause I was always your little girl But you should know by now I'm not a baby You always taught me right from wrong I need your help, daddy please be strong I may be young at heart But I know what I'm saying The one you warned me all about The one you said I could do without We're in an awful mess, and I don't mean maybe - please [Chorus:] Papa don't preach, I'm in trouble deep Papa don't preach, I've been losing sleep But I made up my mind, I'm keeping my baby, oh I'm gonna keep my baby, mmm... He says that he's going to marry me We can raise a little family Maybe we'll be all right It's a sacrifice But my friends keep telling me to give it up Saying I'm too young, I ought to live it up What I need right now is some good advice, please [chorus] Daddy, daddy if you could only see Just how good he's been treating me You'd give us your blessing right now 'Cause we are in love, we are in love, so please [chorus] Papa don't preach, I'm in trouble deep Papa don't preach, I've been losing sleep [repeat] Oh, I'm gonna keep my baby, ooh Don't you stop loving me daddy I know, I'm keeping my baby I know, I'm keeping my baby I know, I'm keeping my baby

They are also edited on there (at least "Live to Tell" is and I'm nearly sure "La Isla Bonita" is as well). My opinion on "True Blue" is that it contains seven of Madonna's finest tracks, one iffy track ("Love Makes The World..") and probably her worst ever (let's just say the name isn't worth sayig once, let alone twice...). It's a very good pop album...if you would have added the "Who's That Girl" songs with "Spotlight", it would be the best light pop album out there. Sugar overload with the expection of "Papa" and "Live To Tell".
