Maxine Nightengale's "Back Where We Started From" This killer discoy R&B track, for some damn reason, is not available on her only still in print disc. Also seems to be hard to find on a decent compilation (although the Time Life is selling this nice boxed set of seventies stuff, but that ain't happening...). But some for some damn reason, it's being used in commericals for "The Family Stone"...but you wouldn't want to put that on the soundtrack. I hate when commericals do that....it sucked that "Jackie Brown"'s ads very effectively used the Temptations "Get Ready" but it was not on the soundtrack, which was still very good. And just now I heard "Back" on a commerical for some terrible new ABC show!

1976. It was a number 2 pop hit...only hit 46 on the R&B (listed as the black singles) chart but it was kind of poppy! "Lead Me On" is still in print. That was a nice song,too...more of a slow jam. She was born in Britian (maybe that's her music didn't translate well to the R&B charts).

Her 1979 album is now on CD after being out of print for many years. This is the album that contains the massive hit ballad "Lead Me On",which I love.I'm gonna have to pick it up.
As for "Back Where We Started From"....that song reminds me of the summer of 1976,a golden era for pop/disco music

Lead Me On is like one of my all time favorite songs. I was so happy when she was on one of those 70s specials and she performed it and Back Where We Started From which I didn't know she also sang for a long time. She still looks great. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Wonder why they haven't released "Right Back..." the album on CD. The song is a staple in commericals (now and even years ago it was constanstly playing to promote "Slums of Beverly Hills").
