The Emancipation Of MARY

Listening to Mary's new album "Breakthrough" I can honestly say that this is Mary's EMANCIPATION ...

The song's are so real and honest....its a indepth healing session.. for the listeners and for MARY.

I am proud to hear my sista so strong, so in love, so happy....

Mary you are my inspiration.. for self love...and love4oneanother..

I encourage all of my fellow orgers to pickup this masterpiece.. DEC 20TH

I really want to love it. I definitely love a bunch of the tracks (father in you, the saadiq one), but there are too many that seem like she's coasting.(enough crying, about you, etc.). You can hear where they sharpened her tone using software, and, frankly, Mary's not-perfect voice is what I love most about her. Hoping the rest will grow on me.

Hmmmm...calling Mary J.'s new album, The Breakthrough, "The Emancipation Of Mary" is a big understatement. I mean, her last album did kind of poorly in sales and yes, it was a disappointment for me with her reuniting with Diddy to make something like of sequel to What's The 411?. But if you look at it, she is a changed woman with her using no more drugs and her not having no more dramatic relationships. Really her emancipation came with her 1997 record, Share My World or even 1999's Mary (my second favorite of hers below My Life). As for The Breakthrough album, I'm definitely buying it! I mean, after listening to "Be Without You", I just knew that the album was going to be BIG. I haven't heard the other tracks on this album, but I know that this is going to be another winning album that is a better improvement over her last album, Love & Life.

I feel you. I loved the MAry album. That's where I saw the turn around. TO me she became a "grown woman." The Love and Life album was she and Puff trying to recapture something that was gone and didn't need to be recaptured. I like this new album.

Go head, Mary, stay grown.
