Teena Marie - "Yes indeed" This is one of my favorite Teena Marie songs, i haven`t really paid any attention to the lyric, i guess it`s the way she uses her voice that impresses me. Who else like the song?

I wish she would do this song in concert instead of Deja Vu for the umpteenth time.
Icicle?Did you name yourself after the Tori song? I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos

"I've heard it said that all is fair in love and war" - damn I lubbs me some Teena! I LOVE that cut! That is probably the best vocal performance I've ever heard her do. Especially the way she holds the "Indeed" at the end - FLAWLESS! "Free yo mind and yo ass will follow" - George Clinton

Yes Indeed is one of her greatest songs... vocally, lyrically and PATRICE Rushen on piano is beautiful... To me, it's one of the songs that makes Lady Tee way above the Mariahs and Beyonce we deal with today... I'd be interested to know who Smyrk considers more talented than Teena

I agree. I`ve just bought a "2 albums on 1 CD" of Irons in the fire/It must be magic, and "yes indeed" is the song i keep listening to over and over again.

yes indeed...
YES inDEED... Teena still never gotten the full credit and recognition she deserves in my opinion...that girl put out some straight-up classic albums...especially Lady T, Irons In The Fire, It Must Be Magic... oh...and to the cat who said T was overrated...and yet admitted to not having even ever heard Yes Indeed...obviously you know NOT what you speak of so i wont waste any more time trying to convince you otherwise... many of T's classic records still sound fresh as ever and get regular play in the ipod... and yeah i could be wrong but i think Irons in the Fire was 'remasterd' a bit in the 90's but i could be wrong on that...i know i've got two copies around here somewhere an old one and a later version...i will have to dig em out and see for sure though... Damn, I LOVE this song!! Usually about once every 2 to 3 months, this song comes up in a thread and I just have to comment on it!! I'd say this is her best song period, with excellent, haunting, and surreal piano playing by none other than Patrice Rushen (along with some BEAUTIFUL strings). I'm just glad there are a couple of others here that are as affected by this song as much as I am!! Classic, classic stuff!

hey Alex, wassup?! Long time no see. Hey David! Happy holidays to you, man. I've been extremely busy lately, but I've been mainly lurking and perusing these boards nowadays (and yes, I think the new Prince song, as Vainandy would agree, SUCKS!!, LOL!) You just had to know I'd eventually sniff and find my way to a thread praising, or even just talking about, "Yes Indeed", my all-time favorite song from Teena!
