new tori amos dvd set!

(feeling lazy so i just lifted this from thedent.com)

There is a new Tori Amos DVD set being released by Rhino/Wea on February 14, 2006 called Fade To Red. Here is a description of this video collection from the official Tori Amos mailing list: "Spanning 1991-2005, Fade To Red is a look at the unique and compelling videos that have been so integral to Tori's creative vision. This 2 disc DVD set includes 21 videos as well as bonus features like behind the scenes footage and a comprehensive audio commentary by Tori, an insightful discourse into the making of her videos. Remastered in 5.1 Surround sound this is an audio and visual treat for all Tori fans." A description of this DVD collection at rhino.com adds that the DVD set "includes the gold-selling VHS release The Complete Videos, plus five additional clips, including two from her 2005 CD release, The Beekeeper." You can pre-order this DVD collection now at Amazon.com for only $16.19 (35% off).

I can't believe she only has 19 video's. somehow,
i thought it would be more, eventho i know all of
what she put out over the years. strange.

anyway, why is this spread out over two discs???

can't they fit 19 songs on one dvd?
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

It is strange. I know that the vid for "Glory..." is on the CD single, but it's still a bit odd to leave that one off (still, if I had to pick one to leave off, that would be the one).

As for SLG, that may have something to do with clearance issues, as it is a cover. Marilyn Manson had a similar problem with the "Tainted Love" vid, and had to leave it off his DVD collection. I'm not a lawyer, so I don't have a clue as to what has to be done to get this kind of clearance, but I suspect that is the reason.

woot! I'll probably get this, but I don't see "The Big Picture" vid from Y Kant Tori Read. I love that video, it's so 80s.

Yeah, I think Tori prefers that era forgotten.

It was on Atlantic, same as all of her albums until she switched to Epic for "Scarlet's Walk."

Didn't she also do a video for Mary? A sorta compilation of different performances?

If you're going to do a 2-disc set, may as well include all the videos.

Still, nice to finally have these on DVD.

Who knows, maybe the missing vids are easter-eggs or something? I have no basis for thinking that, just pondering why only two vids from her solo career are not included.

Like most fans, I got the email announcing this release yesterday. I wish I had known a few weeks ago when I was selling a crapload of stuff on ebay. I could have added my old 'Complete Videos' VHS to the list.

What...? I thought I was giong to hold out but it's damn near impossible (I caved in '99, along with nearly everyone else). I own so many DVDs now! Hell, you could probably find a player for about as much as most boxed sets sell for.

I know, I'm such a cheapskate. Which is ridiculous because the motion picture business is my field. I actually didn't get my first CD player until 1999. lol

1999??? Man, I thought I was late because I didn't start buying CDs until 1991. Up until then it was still all about vinyl for me. Then that year Prince's 'Diamonds And Pearls' album didn't get a vinyl release and I knew I finally had to give in and start buying CDs.

Once you get a DVD player you'll be hooked.

Yeah, I have a really small CD collection. I actually stopped listening to music for many years...long story. One problem is I have such a crappy TV so I don't want to watch anything on it and I never even turn it on. I see most movies in the theater, old-fashioned way.

Ya know what would be a really nice addition to this to fill out the discs...include many of her best television appearances from over the years a la the "Best of Bowie" DVD. Now that would be HOT!
