I want these bad. But I'm sure I won't be picking them up at Best Buy. I've seen the box available on VH1's website for under $60 though. Great deal.

i love the fact that she is doing these sets!!!
But I have a little quibble. The performances to me on this tour are not on the same level as her last solo tour in 2001, in my opinion. I remember she really got into "Cool on your Island" in 2001, and this time does it very mellow. Same with "Icicle", it just doesn't have the same energy this time. And some of the covers... are just, frankly... dull. She is dragging stuff out way too long, she screws up lyrics left and right, she repeats lines that don't need to be repeated.... It sounds too often like she isn't really really really familiar w/ the song, and she's doing karaoke. I don't remember feeling that in 2001 with any of the covers.... Doing 2 covers at every show sorta ruins the specialness of back in the old days when she would thrill and audience with a choice cover here and there. Now it's like, oh, ho-hum, Tori doing "Like a Prayer" and "Dream On." If she slipped either of those into a set list in 2001, it would have caused incredible excitement. ANYWAY. just had to rant a bit. I still love ya Tori, and these live CDs are great, but... I just wish she had done this in 2001. Those shows were much better, IMHO.

I can't say, cuz I missed that entire tour. But I saw her this year 5 times and at least 3 of them were the best Tori show I'd ever seen up to that point. Some of my all-time best concert experiences were provided by her this summer.

I love Tori, but this is a waste of money to me. I think it'll put me to sleep and make me regret spending the cash.
We would have been better off with a 2 disk live set, with the band.

I had bought the first five CDs online so I received the sixth one and the box for free in the mail on Monday. I think it averages out to the same price if you buy the entire box all at once on sale at Amazon.

The only songs that are the same throughout all six shows are "Original Sinsuality" and "The Beekeeper". You don't have to buy the whole box. You can order the CDs individually online.

How often are you gonna listen to all of those CD's being that most of them have the same songs on them? I don't think it's really a matter of how many times you'll listen to them. It's more a matter of having the material, and not having to pay outrageous prices for crappy bootlegs. The artist gets her royalties, and we get perfect sound quality recordings from the shows. Personally, I plan to eventually get them, and then do a compilation of the tracks I like the best for listening to on a regular basis. I like the idea of having those shows to just break out whenever I'm in the mood. I really wish Prince would get a clue and do something similar. If he'd release a show every few months from NPGMC (especially if he did one from every tour) then I'd be sure to buy them. [Edited 12/7/05 13:09pm] Hmm, I feel the exact opposite. I like her with the band, and I always enjoy those shows, but I much prefer it when it's just her and the piano. It feels way more intimate and stripped-down. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
