Kumbia Kings pretty much rule over anything with a "Cumbia" beat...but Ozomatli have a funky groove of their own. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Ozomatli is sort of like a latin version of Fishbone in some ways. But Kumbia Kings sounds like more of an authentic sounding band. Am I right? I'll have to check them out though. It is hard to classify Ozomatli though. Funk/Rock/Latin/Hip-Hop, etc.

It's very popular in Meso America as well, and the Kumbia Kings have "modernized" the basic Cumbia beat with hip-hop "flair". They're an awesome group...the lead guy (A.B. Quintanilla) is the brother of the late Tex-Mex singer SELENA. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

It's cool to hear about some current groups. I really dig Ozomatli, and would like to hear some other stuff in the same genre. You just don't hear much of it on the radio here, even on the "diverse" stations.
