I can see what Pharrell would have done with Prince if he had a chance to work with him because Robin has a flow like him. So when does his CD come out? Robin has come a long way with his look. He's gotten a haircut and cleaned up nicely. Remember him from his When I Get You Alone days? He looked kin to Chubacca.
Anyway, his new cd drops on Valentines Day 2006. Look for a reworked In My Mind from Pharrell in January (if not, the 1st quarter of 2006). He's been tweaking the disc, adding new songs and rearranging others. Thats the main reason for the push backs. The disc may not contain the 7 r&b joints and 7 hip hop joints as originally planned but there will be some similar configuration. It'll be hot no matter what though.

Pharrell Williams is expanding his label's roster to more than just hip-hop acts. His latest addition is R&B singer and Grammy award winning songwriter/producer Robin Thicke, who he stole from the Interscope line-up to add to his Star Trak imprint.
One year ago, Williams approached Interscope head, Jimmy Iovine, asking his plans for Thicke, and just months after the inquiry, the singer was in the studio with the super-producer preparing his Star Track debut. "My initial reaction with Pharrell was obviously humility because he's the best in the business in my opinion," Robin Thicke told BallerStatus.net. "Pharrell asked [Jimmy Iovine] 'What are you doing with Robin Thicke?' and he said 'You, you should take him.' So next thing you know, we're in the studio working on 'Wanna Love U Girl.' "With Pharrell being one of the best, the fact that he liked my music at all was enough for me. The fact that he wanted me to work with him or maybe be on his label was really a blessing. He's been amazingly helpful every since," Thicke continued. With an album -- tentatively titled The Evolution of Robin Thicke -- already recorded and ready, the only thing the two needed was a single and that how they came up with "Wanna Love U Girl." "[Pharrell] starting writing it, then we ended up writing it together," Thicke said of the song. "From hearing my album, what he wanted to do with the single was try to emulate what the whole album takes about, which is love, finding a good woman, the ups-and-downs of life and relationships. That's what the song is about; it's pretty simple. We wanted to make a song that spoke for the whole album and that's where the topic came from." Although he's been in the game for years, behind the scenes penning songs for others is where he spent most of his time. Thicke, who is the son of actor Alan Thicke from the '80s sitcom "Growing Pains," started professionally writing songs at the age of 16 and has amassed dozens of gold and platinum records with artists such as Usher, Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson and Christina Aguilera. "I really don't write for anyone else anymore unless it's the amazing Mary J. Blige or people like Usher, who call me and there's a mutual friendship and respect. I'm honored to write for them, but if I don't have to, I'd rather write songs for myself," explained Thicke. In 2003, he released his debut album, A Beautiful World, to mediocre album sales, but did prove he was something outside the norm and was praised for his effort. Now with a new team behind him, he may finally get the exposure to go to the next level. "[Signing with Star Trak] has already boosted my career," said Thicke. "It's like anything you do within this business, you've always hoping to get to the next level, but you also have to love what you do first and you have to do it because you love it. Whether or not I met Pharrell or if he never existed, I would still be here making music, still be giving it my all. I'm just honored he believes in me and wants to help in my career." His Star Trak debut, The Evolution of Robin Thicke , is slated for release early 2006. — Jay Casteel http://www.ballerstatus.n.../71973682/

Whooooo, great! Love Robin. He´s HOT AS HELL! And I just love When I get you alone "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I like Robin with the short hair. Nice. However, I'm starting to get a little sick of Pharrell. I can't believe I'm saying it. Can I Have It Like That is weak and the new cut, Angel isn't much better. He sounds horrible. And it's time to let the oversized-fatigue shorts and Tshirts go.
Oh but this is about Robin Thicke. Way to go, Robin! Hope Pharrell's better work is on the new album. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

"Wanna Love You Girl" Doesn't sound like Robin to me and I'm not sure how I feel about that track. I hope the rest of the album showcases his vocal talents more. A Beautiful World is a classic album for so many reasons
I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with him 3 separate times back in '03. Stood front row in all his L.A. shows. He's an angel. Too nice to be in the cutthroat music industry, but I'm glad he is

That song is wack and Pharrell is wack. Robin Thicke's voice is cool, except for that silly spoken part. Leave out the rap segue and the song could've been something. Let Robin Thicke be Robin Thicke... My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

Not all exposure is good exposure. I just feel that the Jon Bs and Robin Thickes of the world are talented enough without having to partner up with the popular producers of the moment. What ever happened to having a distinct sound... My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

He has snippets of three other tracks on the Robinthicke.com site. They sound kinda Marvin Gaye-ish to me, though.

What ever happened to having a distinct sound... The Neptunes are not only "popular producers of the moment". They've been at this for almost 15 years! Where have you been? And this song is far from wack!
