Don't hate on Glitter's, All My Life

I know Mariah has her comeback (so to say) Mimi cd but I still love Glitter's 'All My Life' track. It is so loose and fun, I never get tired of it.

Sorry, it just popped up on my shuffle and I had to give some love. Don't ever forget where you came from.

"All my life" is okay, but the only GOOD track on the album is "last night a DJ saved my life"

The Rick James song smile it's one of the few songs that I actually like from Glitter. That song with JaRule and Nate Dogg....horrible.....sounds like a reject from a J.Lo album. I liked "Lead The Way" and her cover of "Didn't Mean to Turn You On"....and that's pretty much it.

I logged onto the org right now to make a thread about Mariah Carey's "All My Life".

Glad to see others enjoy it, and that I have sick intuition.

I don't know what the problem is with Glitter. It's the bomb. The CD rocks. It's mostly 80's music and I love that sound. Maybe if the music wasn't associated with the film things would be different. I love that album!

This song is one of the few good tracks on the album. "Loverboy" is one of the worst pieces of noise I've ever heard. Jaw-droppingly bad.

The remix is somehow even worse. lol I love how they bracket the CD (track 1 and the final track) - why the fuck did she do that? confused

People seem to love her remixes, and praise every remix she releases. Personally, i don`t like her remixes that much confused Whitney Houston has a lot of remixes that are woot!

Whitney is better than Mariah in every way!!!

vainandy alert!!!!!

The only good album Whitney ever made was My Love Is Your Love. She tried something different on that. Mariah has tried more and her songs have better hooks. She also doesn't have to yell when she sings. lol

Yes, and a bad one at that! All My Life is one of three good songs on that album, the other two being Want You and her take on Cherrelle's I Didn't Mean to Turn You On. Love that vintage Jam/Lewis 80s sound.

lol Then you'll love this review of it from allmusic:

In 2000, Mariah Carey left Sony, her home for a decade, and signed with Virgin. This track uses a sample of Cameo's 1986 "Candy." Unlike countless other samples, "Loverboy" misses the mark of what made "Candy" work. The appeal of the Cameo single was vocalist Larry Blackmon's instantly recognizable quirky voice. The libidinous rhythm was augmented by synth fills and snatches of hard rock guitar. The Carey version uses all of this but slows the rhythm slightly, drops the melody down, and the magic is gone. What's worse is that Carey, one of the finest vocalists of her generation, takes on this classic track with one of her least impressive and potentially irritating vocals. As it turned out, "Candy" wasn't the song that she initially wanted to use. Carey had wanted to use a sample of Yellow Magic Orchestra's percolating and quirky "Firecracker" for "Loverboy." When that song became unavailable in a timely manner, "Candy" replaced it. The "Loverboy" single took a long time climbing the charts and Virgin was rumored to have dropped the single at a rock-bottom price in attempt to briskly move units. "The Loverboy Remix" also appears on Glitter featuring rappers Da Brat and Ludicris doing major damage to an already wafer-thin concept. While this song did indeed become a hit, for most, "Loverboy" remains a perfect example of a great singer doing a bad song.

This is completely unrelated, but I have to say it: Stephen Thomas Erlewine is on crack lately. That is all.
