They had a song on on Carlos Santana c.d. Shaman. They sound pretty good.

thumbs up!

Kumbia Kings pretty much rule over anything with a "Cumbia" beat...but Ozomatli have a funky groove of their own.

Ozomatli is sort of like a latin version of Fishbone in some ways. But Kumbia Kings sounds like more of an authentic sounding band. Am I right? I'll have to check them out though. It is hard to classify Ozomatli though. Funk/Rock/Latin/Hip-Hop, etc.

BTW - CUMBIA is to Colombia what Salsa is to Puerto Rico, Merengue is to Santo Domingo and Rhumba is to Cuba.
It's very popular in Meso America as well, and the Kumbia Kings have "modernized" the basic Cumbia beat with hip-hop "flair".
They're an awesome group...the lead guy (A.B. Quintanilla) is the brother of the late Tex-Mex singer SELENA. pray

I am of Hispano background, and have danced cumbia a time or two, my friend. After a bowl of Menudo, of course. lol Or pretending to eat it. ill Yuck!

It's cool to hear about some current groups. I really dig Ozomatli, and would like to hear some other stuff in the same genre. You just don't hear much of it on the radio here, even on the "diverse" stations.
