His early stuff is a combination of Everything: Jazz Fusion, Mellow Soul/R&B, Pop, Rock, Disco, Calypso, Ballads, etc...actually, this one, I Cry, I Smile(his second album) is probably a good place to start, this one and his third album, Awakening... his first album, Garden of Lovelight is more of a Jazz/Rock fusion album, featuring players like Jeff Beck,Carlos Santana, Will Lee, David Sancious, and Stanley Clarke ...
