I use to like when she first hit the music scene in 2000 or 2001. Im not really into her now. What kills me on the Music awards in 2004 when she made that comment about Janet Jackson when she was dressed rather revealing her self.

what did she say?

I think I like Britney better. I own most of her discs (I just refuse to buy "Opps..." and only bought "Baby" becuase it was $4 and a special import). Christina is without a doubt more talented (as a singer and probably as a songwriter) but not very consistent. She's only had two proper albums but they are all over the map and she's possibly making another which will be in forties style? And in the middle of a strong pop rock disc, she does a bunch of hip hop collobos? As Rhonda said, she needs to find her way.

i just wanna fuck her.

i saw her open for TLC in 00 and she's a great singer but her show was boring. "stripped" had some great tracks but overall it was uneven and kind of dull.

i liked her brunette on the VMAs when she kissed Madge.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Legendary hip-hop producer DJ Premier is lacing like half of her next album! eek That's straight from Premier himself (this month's Scratch magazine with DJ Premier and Nas on the cover).

shes great. the only modern artist im a big fan of. although her first album to me doesnt even exsist, stripped is great, and i know that only leaves her with 1 album for me, but i adore it and expect her next album to be just as good, i see a long great future for her, and i dont care how long it takes in between albums, im used to waiting that long for mj anyway, as long as its good is all i care about.

I didn't make myself clear. Variety is nice but when she switches styles, it doesn't feel right. When Madonna changes from album to album, the progression sounds natural. Maybe it's because Christina only has two proper albums to judge from, but all the stuff she did in between the albums and after her second has me questioning her consisitency.

I go back and 4th with Christina. There's no arguing that she's xtraordinarily talented. When her vocals r kept in check, she's brilliant. But sometimes in her live performances it's "Leave no Star Search note behind!". That can get really annoying. The only other issue I've ever had with her is that 4 the 1st few years of her career, she was so consumed with her image. She fancied herself a far more relvant and controversial artist than she actually was or is. As a wise Rolling Stone reader observed after that cover she did where she mistook a big blue guitar 4 a feminine hygine product, "Christina, your individuality does not come from how many piercings you have in your naughty bits, but from that incredible voice". I agree with him. Love her music, though.

The bolded statement is a major reason why I don't like her as much as I want to. She has a dynamic voice and hearing her, while she was promoting "Stripped", talk about how fake the image was on her 1st CD was and how she was trying to push the envelope just made me so mad. All it did was make her look fake. And then she wants to get naked on her videos, that annoyed the shit outta me cause it was so stupid and pointless. She seems to have more clothes on lately and now that she's married, I hope that she can be sexy without being slutty and show the world how talented she is with her voice.

that reminds me of a performance on Mtv (from her debut), and afterwards, Carson Daily ill asked her, "has anyone told you you sing better than Mariah Carey?" you could tell that Christina was not going to get into that. lol

Shows the potential she's got if she'd just calm down a bit more and not overwhelm the melody.

I think she's a great singer and a quirky girl - she looks sort of like the slutty Cyndi Lauper. She does oversing sometimes, though, and the melisma gets annoying.

Is that a Christina song? I only know a song by that whiny Melanie C. That's a voice I really can't stand.

As I said, 'Genie in a bottle' is my favourite, and 'What a girl wants' must be my second favourite. lol We're old skool !

A friend of mine, a musician, has made an incredible funny version of 'What a BOY wants', and a superb folky version of 'No scrubs'.

Genie in a Bottle is the shit; what a great, smooth, perfect piece of pop music. Love the intro piano hook.

nod To me it's also the clip in which she's the most beautiful, uncomplicated. Very straightforwards song. And I have a weak spot for the imagery... 'You gotta rub me the right way'.... lol

smile

This 'I Turn To You' is a different song , it's a ballad
You can watch it ;
Here

I don't like Melanie C's voice either , and to think they chose her to give the Dutch 'Idols' contestants singing advice is just ridiculous disbelief

Sounds interesting what your friend did

It was a joke. She meant that she did not want to have her nip slip out on national TV (it was about to, if you remember the dress - she had to adjust herself).
