I disagree there as well; Jam & Lewis oftentimes utilize the most obvious and overused (sampling-wise) songs ever. lol

It's so strange how we differ. While you pick out Stranger In Moscow and Tabloid Junkie as notable HIStory tracks, Stranger In Moscow is my all time favourite, but TJ is one I can sort of take or leave. I love the lyrics, but it's not one I listen to that often.

Free Xone is damn funky, but if you listen to the songs it samples, there's VERY little that's actually been done with it. While Rhythm Nation used Sly Stone to great effect, Jam & Lewis' picks of the samples got quite inspired later on, but more lazy and more frequent. Janet's albums to me are more a collection of "tracks" than "songs". I see a difference anyway.

Well, if we're going to be honest here, I really don't listen to Tabloid Junkie too often, either.I just listed it because the lyrics are actually kind of smart for a Michael Jackson song. Instead of churning out "Privacy" or some other dreck, he actually came up with a decent set of lyrics.

Truthfully, I don't listen to Michael Jackson except to maybe break out a cut or two at a party. Being on here, and on Dotmusic a few years back pretty much helped kill all of my interest in the man. Of course, getting into other artists (U2, REM, Depeche, Bowie, New Order) didn't help his cause either.

Janet, has experienced as much of a fall-off from me as well. Her last two albums accompanied by the Janazis on here and some of the ones from Dot (EricWest being one memorable example) also took me down quite a few pegs in the Janet fan club.

lol Janet's fans totally made me hate her a few years ago, Eric West in particular (the only thing he could even bare to criticise her on was wearing too much red blusher during TVR period) - quite ironic really for a Jacko fan but I do like to think I'm more objective than some of those folks.

Talking of Dotmusic, we still joke about the poster called Tricky giggle

Don't remember Tricky, but I do remember Link.

falloff

Then he'd sneak some sort of compliment in for Janet.

Madonna is the Queen of Pop, but Janet is so much younger and less desperate than the aging slut.
