cause he came up at a time when black awareness was commercially viable and we all know how long that lasted. Honestly, his flow becames monotonous after awhile, he really needs other people with a different style on the verse. I love Tribe though and as far as sheer work is concerned, much more important than the annointed Biggie or Pac.

I used to think Bonita Applebaum was sooo romantic when I was 12. I thought I gonna get me a guy like q-tip. But then as the years went on he seem like in a subtle way like women was suppose to fall for him like he had some kind of unique appeal over women. Then I didn't like him anymore. Crush over. Sort of like when I found out Mos Def (who has that same not your typical handsome guy appeal) had 5 kids with 5 different women. Crush OVA.

How much do I love Q-Tip? So much that in 2005, that "Kamaal the Abstract" stays in constant rotation in the CD changer. That's one of those CD's where you scratch your head and ask: "why was this never released?"

Ditto, spun the album yesterday!

There a a few rappers that i really like and there`s one that i`ve always liked a little more than the others - Qtip. His lyrics and the groove, the whole attitude. The love movement, that one is so good. All the TCQ albums are great.
They´re like the hippies of the hiphop scene. That`s what git me interested in the group. I can`t have any fun these days listening to that alpha-male shit. Thatis dull - and where`s the funk in rap music totday? Gonegonegone.
JayZ is very very cool too, but i don`t like some of the lyrics.
Two weeks ago i was in London. I went to a club with some buddies of mine. The dj was really really good. Then, he puts on "check the rhyme" and people went nuts! It`s the funk! People went crazy.
Love...thy will b done

Kamaal the Abstract is Slammin!! IMO, if it had been released, it would have gotten all the acclaim that Speakerboxx/The Love Below got 2 years later! But does anyone kow what happened to Open/ Live at the Renaissance? --it's been moved back and delayed so long, I'm wondering if it's about to suffer the same fate as the Kamaal album....

I'm so tired of hearing how great this Kamaal the Abstract album is when only like 3 people have heard it. Where can one find this album or is it top secret?

I saw him last year in Baltimore. He surprised everyone by bringing out the rest of Tribe Called Quest and then it just became a reunion of sorts. It was great. And I loved Violator. What is this new album you speak of?

I think anyone with a song called "Pumps and a Bump" should be taken about as seriously as R. Kelly.
