KISS was my Fab Four

Growing up in the 70's, Kiss was my first concert in '76, new years eve. I was 11. My parents had no idea how dangerous it was. It was festival seating and yes we were nearly crushed. I was hooked. Never saw them on Ed Sullivan. I can't remember ever seeing them on television. Maybe they were too scary for prime time tv. I got the tour book, posters, albums, dolls, trading cards, comics, was in Kiss army, the whole nine. Santa Claus brought me 'Alive II.' I FREAKED!! Santa was the coolest. Mom & dad would have never bought me an album with Gene dripping blood from his mouth on the cover!

This was my teenage influence. My sister was into Brick, P-Funk and Bootsy (which started my whole prince movement) But all of that was later.

Different era but I think Kiss was my Fab Four nod

The Beatles never influened me one way of another. I never had a John, Paul, George or Ringo doll.

I had a Kiss trash can, rug and i even bought the solo albums. Those damn Kiss puppets were as hard to get as the Prince Purple Rain puppet mad Never had either.

Just had to share. Who influenced kids in the 90's and '00's?

Anxiety

KISS never made an impact on me, other than i was a little bit scared of them when i was little. then a classmate bought me 'KISS vs. the phantom' colorforms for christmas one year, and that was fun because they were glow in the dark. pretty much, the colorforms were the only thing i enjoyed from KISS.

Very, very cool, Natisse! When in the hell are we going out on a date?! Even though I adored The Beatles when I was little (still do), they can't compare to the impact KISS had on me. Ace Frehley is the sole reason I switched from playing left handed to right handed. He was my first guitar hero. I didn't get into Jimi untill I was 12. By then, I had already switched. If I was into Jimi when I was 8, I never would have switched from playing left handed. But cuz Ace played righthanded, well dammit, so was I!

You know.....they were not all that bad actually. Their songs were rock but with a pop appeal to them. Seeing Gene spew blood and Ace shoot lasers out of a guitar to destroy his other guitar were mind blowing to me as a teenager. They were from another planet, half-human/half-beast and louder than anything around at that time, besides The Who. I used to play air guitar with a pool stick while listening to them. My friend would spew ketchup from his mouth. Those were the days! There will never be another KISS.
