I remember Prince's "Kiss",which was the coolest thing on the radio.
I remember Oran Juice Jones "The Rain",one of my favorite songs from that year. 1986 was the year when I finally became a Madonna fan.I heard "Live To Tell" and was very impressed. Luther Vandross released his finest album this year: 'Give Me The Reason' Anita Baker released her best album this year: 'Rapture'.

Granted I was only 12 at the time, but I remember that Janet Jackson's "Control" was all the rage. Then of course, there was Prince with "Parade" and the debut of Eric B and Rakim. Madonna changed her image with "True Blue" and Michael Jackson was int he studio working on "Bad." Looking back on 1986, there wasn't really much to offer music wise. I don't think the best would come until the following year.

My prom theme was On the Wings of Love. Me too. I didn't go to the prom though. If I remember correctly, in the spring, in high school, I was here: In the fall, in college, I was here: when I wasn't listening to music from the '60s and '70s, that is
