"If I Can't Have You" by Yvonne Elliman is probably my favorite disco song ever. It brings back tons of childhood memories, all of them good, and the song itself is so lush and melodic and indulgent. If it's the only successful thing that ever came out of Yvonne's mouth, that's okay. It's fantastic.
Beyond that, there's tons of Donna Summer stuff I love...some of it I'm just now discovering. I think "I Feel Love" is a masterpiece of the '70s - the sound of that song was so completely new when it first dropped, and people are still ripping it off to this day (that means YOU, Mrs. Madge "Future Lovers" Ritchie!). Some people consider ELO disco, others don't. If they're disco, then add them to my list - "Out of the Blue" is one of my favorite albums ever.

ELO did at least one song which could be considered disco: :"Shine A Little Love" from 1979.Sounds more like something The Bees would have done, lol.

Is that the first song on "Discovery", or am I thinking of "You Shine A Light On My Life"...cuz that song is helplessly disco, too. "Evil Woman", "Livin' Thing" and "Sweet Talkin' Woman" could get some love on the dance floor as well, come to think of it...

I probally confuse some Funk and disco songs.I agree with you about 70s music being the best decade for music. The 70s music was more creative and fun. Plus they talked about social issues. I like some current r&B and rap but I i Like a lot funk &soul(r&B) myself. You can only hear so much bump and grind for so long. "You're A Native New Yorker" There a hundreds more that I can list that I dig.
