There are shades of My Life in it, particularly the heavier hitting songs, but I most think of Share My World. It sounds a good deal like that album. | |

I have about 18 tracks so i am guessing not all of it is going to end up on it, but I hope my favorites get picked. There were SOME sappy ones, but this album is pretty cool...it doesnt have that "I am tryin to be mary 411" shit or all that played out late 90's R&B bull. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

This is a return to form for Mary. I am so happy, like Mariah, Mary is back also. And will people stop comparing everyone's album cover to Beyonce, (like Mariah's Mimi) geeze, Gett off Beyonce's nuts 4 christ sake! Is their a law against having a similar looking photograph?  I've never seen a site where people complain about album covers so much, LOL.
Anyway, like I said, this is a return to form. She sounds great once again. The last album (love and life) was supposed to be a return to the hip hop Mary but the songs were uninspiring and so was Puffy. This album is less hip-hop and more like her album titled, "Mary" which is a more soulful, deeper mary. Songs like, "Take Me as I am" bring up memories of her first album and the song, "whatcha Gonna do." Holla back! | |

Ok, I Found My Everything just put the album over the top for me. Once you hear the whole thing in its complete sequence a couple of times, it has this really lovely old-school, Marvin/Aretha vibe. God I love Saadiq's stuff.
And while I first thought her singing sounded bored, I'm now thinking she's just singing more on-key than before! [Edited 12/14/05 15:37pm] | |
