Metallica

Are there any Metallica fans out there?

I bought 'Metallica Black' several years ago, not knowing much about them, but riveted by some of the singles on the album.

Today, I still don't know much about them, and haven't bought any other albums. Though they are a bit too heavy for me, I'd still like to listen to more.

What do you recommend I listen to next?

I also heard their cover of Whiskey In The Jar and Die, Die, My Darling a few years ago.

Are they regarded as 'hasbeens'? Are you 'allowed' to like them?

Thanks,

Ecnirpnz

I own both Load and reLoad, and a copy of S&M.

I can recommend S&M, Metallica is greath with a big band behind them. If you have the chance, buy the DVD.

Metallica must be the worst band ever.

Master of Puppets rules! Although, it's a lot less poppy and more thrashy than the black album. Once you have started loving Master of Puppets, then And Justice For All is the way to go. Blackened is just... woah!

Metallica don't get any kudos these days, probably because of the Napster stuff they started, and from what I've heard since 1991 they've been on the wane, but that doesn't change how great their early stuff is.

they're ok, heavy and powerfull, but lack creativity...

Prince is by far a better guitarist than Mr Zammit.

Metallica kicks ass!! I am a drummer so with Lars back there on the kit, I guess that is semi logical. Lars is one of the best timekeepers in the business. Their "black" album had some really great trax, may personal fav being Sad But True!!

If you like them...check out a relatively new band called Disturbed! They have reignited my taste for Heavy Rock...mad props to 92.3 X-Treme radio in Cleveland! To all the ladies... show me your W.O.W. (Whip'em Out Whenever!!)

This music has made me yearn for the guitar heavy Prince that disappeared somewhere around 1995... sad

metallica was a pretty good heavy metal band (albeit a very derivative one) from "kill 'em all" all the way to "and justice for all"... the "black album" was pretty good... unfortunately, every album since then has been complete horseshit, with the exception of 1 oe 2 tracks... i don't see metallica ever making anything worth listening to again...

"Nothing Else Matters" off the "black album" is a great song.
