That project was some of the Chic Organazation's best production work, Bernard had Jon really playing that Bass didn't he and what more can I say about Tony Thompson that hasn't been said, the man is one of the most underrated drummers ever.

John Taylor is a huge Bernard Edwards/Chic fan. He said the bass that Bernard used on all the classic Chic records is the one he used on the Power Station LP.

The most complete would be the box set of singles '81-'85.
"Get It On (Bang A Gong)" was another good Power Station tune, even for a remake. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

Yep. U and I rapped about this awhile back. John said the very reason he even picked up the bass was because of the song "Good Times". SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

I've always really liked the bassline on "Rio". Listen to the bass during the sax solo.

Just try to find "Get it on" from the power station.. he plays some nice bass there too!
Actually Duran Duran's lastest album is a great one (well they all are) but if u want some funky album, u should try Notorious! That is their most funky album with Niles Rodgers as a producer..... In their lastest tour Simon introduces the band at Girls on film, and when he introduces John.. it is with.. Play that fucking bass John, and then he starts to play.. WOW! I never heard him play bass like this..... Dec 13th i will be witness of this again.. for the 3rd time this year!! Maybe another nice one is the Wild boys live version on the straneg behaviour tour... coz he plays the bass very nice too, especially at the intro of that song! Some nice sites for John Taylor fans are: http://www.bassicallyjohntaylor.com/ (also a very nice video about him playing bass for the Power station project) and http://www.trusttheproces...atest.html [Edited 12/10/05 15:41pm] the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose

Listening Right Now. I've always liked this CD. I like the Props they give to the Isleys on this. Besides remaking Harvest for the World, the whole albums got an Isleys vibe to it. The whole Rock/Soul/Funk thing with a big 80's sound. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

The group had the right name....Power Station. That song was full of power. One of my favorites from that era. Andy is a four letter word.
