Michael Jackson News. VISIONARY — THE VIDEO SINGLES
Each week over a 5 month period Sony BMG will release 20 of Michael Jackson’s greatest singles. Each single will be issued as a Dual Disc allowing not only his most popular singles to be collected but also their accompanying videos. This new technology allowing CD and DVD content on one disc is the perfect medium for an artist whose music, videos and love of innovation is renowned. In yet another landmark in Michael’s career he will become the first performer EVER to release a single on Dual Disc. Quick facts... 1) Michael Jackson worked on the VISIONARY project as Executive Producer, giving final approval on the music & video editing and even packaging design 2) The first CD single is released with the collector's Box on January 23rd (United Kingdom) 3) The singles will be chart eligible in the United Kingdom 4) Each single is a Dual Disc - featuring a standard CD format on one side and a DVD format on the other 5) When all 20 CD singles are combined, they form a giant single image of Michael. Well, at least where Elvis is concerned, I don't think he's making new music anymore.

It's interesting, if a little on the costly side. And Blood on the Dancefloor...one of his "greatest singles?"

Someone needs to pay the Neverland light bill.
It sounds like something you would do when someone is dead. ---------------------------------
Funny and charming as usual

How many times are they going to keep re-releasing Michael Jackson stuff? The albums have already been re-released in their entirety and there's even about two great hits compilations already. As for the videos, I've already seen about three or four DVD collections in the stores already that contain damn near all his videos.
If he wants to release something, he should release only the very few videos that are not released already. Actually, they should concentrate on releasing The Jacksons videos. Those aren't released at all as far as I know. Andy is a four letter word.

Just reeks of milking the charts while the artist is out of the limelight. This'll make the 9th (!!) chance people have gotten to purchase the Thriller singles (Thriller, HIStory Disc 1, HIStory Single Disc, Number Ones, Thriller Remaster, Ultimate Michael Jackson, Essential Michael Jackson, the singles released back in '82 and '83, and now these).
Gimmie a break! I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Similarly, if you want the video for "Thriller", you can get it on
- The Making of Thriller - Video Greatest Hits HIStory - HIStory on Film, Volume II - Number Ones and now the re-issue. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Gimmie a break! No-one's forcing you to buy. However, I agree. It's a nice idea and the box looks pretty cool, but other than decent outtakes the only thing from his back catologue that I'm interested in is a remastered version of the History album. Everything else should be left well alone now. His catalogue is gonna end up being as exploited as Bowie's.

Why would his 1995 album have to be remastered... it was obviously mastered for CD in the first place. That never makes sense to be... mid 90s remasters. Death Row records did it too.
