Good thing it was his "bad" eye Guess he didn't see it coming. It's really a humourous accident -unless of course you're the one with candy in your eye. Sucks to be DB. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

The Hells angels were hired as guards (good call). So you got hippies and bikers. Early on during the day a hells angels was threatening to beat up one of the members of Jefferson Airlpane. So as you watch the concert there is a black guy wearing a green jacket and a funky hat on the left hand side who was killed. The vh1 special I think was called gimme shelter. At the end of the gimme shelter concert you see a guy editing the film and shows a young mick jagger the killing in the crowd, Mick was upset of course. Hope that helps. ur talkin about altamont right? is there an official release of this? not sure, saw it a VH1 a few years back

http://video.craveonline....wVideo=987 I didn't watch the clip, but is that Kelsey Grammar falling offstage? I've seen that many, many times and it always makes me laugh, especially when he cries out "Oh, good Lord!"

Anxiety said: CHIC0 said: wtf?!?! details please it's documented in a movie called 'gimme shelter'. A friend of mine is actually in that movie... he used to hang with the Hells Angels. He's the guy who grabbed the mike from Grace Slick (at some point when all hell broke loose) and shouted "the mod squad is coming." At least, that's his version. I've never gotten to see it. I really should. [Edited 12/7/05 10:44am]

I'd heard about this incident, but assumed the actual lolly end just bounced off his eye. So, the stick got lodged in his eye socket? It didn't actually pierce his eyeball, did it?

Especially when you consider the number of performers who call off a tourbecause they've got the sniffles. Just more proof of how damned cool the man is. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Hi all,
Patti Labelle July 4 1996 Art Museum: Where to start, where to start..... 1. Background singer gets a solo spot and while she is singing, somebody shoots a bottle rocket from the crowd, and next thing you know, the singer is out cold and her head's smoking! 2. Patti gathers men from the audience to come up on stage, didnt realize that one of the "men" is a big woman until she starts singing to her and had to finish the song on television and in front of a live audience! Only at a Patti concert... Mutts

Prince - Lovesexy Tour, 1988.
During "Head", either Dr. Fink or Boni (I can't remember) hit a bad note just as Prince was about to sing. Prince's head shot around so fast I thought he was going to give himself whiplash. He then shot the culprit (can't remember who it was) one of the most evil stares I have ever seen. Everyone in my section goes "Whoa!" A guy behind me yelled out, "I know somebody's gonna get it after the show!" It was hilarious but frightening at the same time.
