It's just the wait gets longer and longer and the quality, well... it doesn't seem to be the same. But I'll be very happy with that. What's your favourite Diana album, David? I'm still gutted - years ago, I saw Swept Away on cd on holiday in Toronto. I bloody knew I should've picked it up when I saw it! I didn't realise it was deleted at the time. You can always find new copies on ebay Thank you! I'll take a look. I've even asked friends to check the same record shop that I went to when they visited Toronto. Sad!

Hmm,I'd probably say 'The Boss'(1979) but 'Diana'(1980) is a close second.I also like her 1973 album 'Last Time I Saw Him'. I`m not familiar with the 1973 album, but i have the song "sleeping" on a compilation called "anthology" from 1990. this compilation is great, cause you also get two beautiful, unknow songs; "young mothers" and "baby i love your way" (yes, the Peter Frampton song...) You can find it cheap on amazon marketplace. It`s worth the price alone for the last two songs i mentioned

Let`s be mean Diana said "no" to VH1 Divas Live 98 & 99, but then the producers came to their senses and realized if they were ever going to get her on their show, it would have to be a tribute focusing on HER. Executives and producers alike agreed. So did Miss Ross. Hates the word "ensemble." She prefers being the star of a production. So producers offered Michelle Pfeiffer the role in Witches of Eastwick. During the early 80's she rented the Vegas house of Steve Wynn, owner of the casino/hotel Golden Nuggets. Steve had pictures of beautiful singer (and Diana look-alike) Lola Falana all over his house, and wondered what Diana might think of that. Surprisingly, when Steve returned, Lola's pictures were all in place, except they were turned, so that they faced the wall. While filming the 1975 film Mahogany in Rome, director Berry Gordy kept pushing a pregnant Diana for take after take, but she had had enough and slapped Berry so hard his glasses flew across the room, stormed into her trailer with assistants in tow, and jumped on the next flight to Los Angeles. A body double had to complete her scenes. In the '70's Natalie Cole visited Diana backstage and started playing her piano, getting applause from Diana's crew, prompting Diana to tell her assistant, "Get that woman off my piano!" Diana tested tempers at the BBC. The corporation had been excitedly planning a 'divas night' for its National Lottery show, featuring rock's holy troika of Ross, Cher and Tina Turner. But when Ross discovered she would be given equal billing with her rivals on the show she dug her high heels in, refused to share the stage and insisted on pre-recording. During the 80's Diana enjoyed performing in Las Vegas. One evening she drove past the Caesar's Palace marquee and to her horror it read, "Presenting Miss Diana Ross... and next week Sheena Easton." Diana gave the management hell, and while her audience was waiting she walked out through the casino and unto the street - in her Bob Mackie gown - simply to confirm that the name Sheena Easton had been removed. What a truly egocentric bitch she is!

Do anyone have the "when you dream" cd, that was released in Japan in the mid-90s? I`m thinking about getting it, but first i wanna know if it`s any good.

That's why we love her! I remember reading this story, years ago, about how some uber-fan ran into her whilst she was out shopping. Apparently, he was going on about how much he loved her - and she was being surprisingly patient - until, at some point, she'd had enough and tried to make her excuses. The fan said something like "But what about 'Reach Out And Touch'??!", to which Diana snapped "They're just songs!". I think the fan was left in a puddle on the floor.

It isn`t called egocentric longer, now they`re just ambitious In many ways,Diana Ross and Prince are similiar. They're both very ambitious, demanding and extremely ego-centric.They're known to be snooty and bitchy, but you don't get to the top by being the shy, retiring type

She is.That's why we love her. She's the ultimate Diva Bitch That`s why i DON`T like her as a person. I know it`s not fashionable to be nice and kind, but that`s qualities i admire in people. I can`t think of any excuse for Ross (or Prince) to treat other people like crap, but in the end, they loose.

Absolutely - I totally agree. I don't admire her for that - I just love her music. And the 'showbiz' side of it all just adds to the experience, I suppose. It's all hype in the end. And, if this was J.Lo or some other hag, I'd probably be rolling my eyes. So it is a bit of a contradiction. But I think David's right - I can't imagine anyone getting to that level without having a lot of determination. And that must manifest itself in many ways. I watched Madonna's 'I Want To Tell You A Secret' the other day and - as I said to a mate - I love seeing how happy, how natural and down-to-earth she is at the moment but, ultimately, she's still Madonna. There's GOT to be a bitchy side left in her. Otherwise she'd be wouldn't be where she is. And that's why nice guys like us are where we are.

You need a lot of determination to make it to where they are, but when you`re finally reached that level of fame and fortune, i think you may have to face a lonely life. I saw a documentary on Dolly Parton a while ago, where she said that she would never use people to get famous, she didn`t let anyone stand in her way, but it wasn`t worth it if she had to make a career by mistreating others. When it comes to Madonna, yes she is a bitch, and dressing her in a tweedjaket doesn`t make her any less of one.

Well, I won't go down that road - I don't want to offend DavidEye (or the legion of Madonna fans on this site ). But I think most people - whether it's in showbusiness, business or otherwise - have to have that side to get to the top. Unfortunate, but true. But, luckily, there'll always be exceptions to the rule. I guess I admire what they've achieved, and - in some ways - how they've done it. But that's what makes them them and me me. If that doesn't sound cuckoo.

Oh, don't worry - I'm sure he won't mind. Plus, he's more than capable at looking out for her. I wonder if Madonna's ever gone on record about Diana...?
