the earliest music i can remember listening to is probably the beatles, particularly the pre-'rubber soul' stuff. it's good music for little kids.
i also remember a lot of the country music my grandparents listened to when i was little - i didn't care for it then, but i'm terribly nostalgic for it now. they'd listen to a lot of stuff like elvis, johnny cash, tennessee ernie ford, and all the goofy country novelty songs that were popular in the mid '70s like ray stevens stupid stuff like that. my grandparents were always listening to lighthearted, upbeat music. the first music i CHOSE to listen to as a kid was donna summer, ELO and olivia newton john.

That it was. The only problem was that I had to leave early because it was a school night for my son. He was helping the old man out as my roadie for the night. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I can say Country,Blues,Soul, were the starters for me. there was only one am radio sta. that had a format for blacks and it would end at 6:00 p.m. everyday.
so you either listen to another sta after that are play what records you had at home. My Grandparents lived in the northern part of Mississippi and when we'd visit they had all kinds of music that they'd order. from gospel, jazz ,blues, soul comedy, country, and my cousin would order the hip stuff. although my grams thought she was hip. she would try to sing James Brown "Sex Machine" but she would sing "Washing Machine." She'd say "like a washing machine" funny shit. but around 10 i was a fan of all types of shit and still to this day

one of the very 1st songs i remember listening to was the Beatles "Let It Be". it would make me cry. not sure why, but the faucet was on full blast eachtime that song played. but i remember loving it so much.
which, on looking back, is quite odd; since i was never a Beatles fan.
