INXS drops new record today

SWITCH featuring the new singer.

You can hear the WHOLE ALBUM streamed at VH1.com:
http://www.vh1.com/artist...lbum.jhtml

I like it. I like it a lot. It is definitely INXS in all their glory, the new singer is just enough of Michael Hutchence to get you going, "oh hell yeah! It's INXS!" but he's also enough of his own style so you don't feel like you're listening to a tribute band.

Just my take on it.

If you LIKE(D) INXS, you will like this record. I promise.

hmm
I like that old song, "Need you tonight", i don`t really know much else they made, but i don`t think the new singer, no matter who he is, can compare to Michael Hutchence

Pretty Vegas sounds like a true INXS song and I could hear Michael singing it, but I just can't get into JD as the new singer. He just seems too much like a poser.

CD is great!!! Picked it up today and there is hardly a song that I DON'T like. The writing is on point and there is a mix of fast, rockin, slow and moody tracks. Get over the whole reality show concept and move forward. This one is very good. woot!

I can get over the reality show concept cuz I never even watched it. I just can't get over the fact that they actually replaced their lead singer.

Besides Prince,Micheal was up there with Dave Lee Roth.

Loved the show - was addicted, actually - but the guy they picked was NOT my choice - he bugged the crap out of me.

INXS without HUTCHENCe just shoulda been RENAMED...It's like Zep was Over after JOHN BONHAM and QUEEN after Freddie. I just think INXS shoulda renamed themselves. I'm Not into them anymore . They were my Favorite band way back with Michael. He was INXS..Sorry,but HE CANNOT EVER be REPLACED.... I just am Not INTERESTED anymore in them...Sorry...All was MICHAEL HUTCHENCE..RIP...DEAREST... sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad

I've been playing Kick and Greatest Hits a lot lately, but I don't think I'm interested in the "new" INXS. I understand that the other members wanted to continue playing music together after Hutch died, but I think that they should've had enough respect to change the name of the band.

Don't even get me started on the idea of finding a singer through reality TV. mad

I really despised the notion of the reality show to replace Michael Hutchence. I thought it was classless and nothing but a money grab. I have zero interest in hearing the new material, even though I have always loved INXS.

I'll put on Welcome to Whatever You Are or Full Moon, Dirty Hearts again instead. For me, INXS ended with Elegantly Wasted. NOT because Michael died, or because INXS chose to continue. But it was the extraordinarly crass way they handled going forward w/ a new singer.

You want to carry on as INXS, fine. Choose a singer, get some new material, write and record. But to have a reality show? This album will probably sell as many as the last 2 INXS albums combined, and that is sad. Those were great albums.

And to put an album out this soon after the show ended, they must have had the album pretty much recorded except for the vocals, right? Unless the show was recorded a long time ago, and they had time to record an album... Or maybe the album was recorded live in a week (somehow I doubt that.) But if not, sounds like karaoke to me. But I confess, I didn't follow the show enough to know, maybe the show was recorded a long time ago.

OK, rant officially over smile No offense to those who like the new stuff, the whole process just rubbed me the wrong way.

There is more to a B-A-N-D besides just a lead singer. We have had this conversation before.

Just enjoy the cd and thank God it was not Sammy Hagar

Jeez .. why do you losers click on a thread for a band just to shit all over it.

I dont get you retards who wont listen to a CD just because you have some wierd elitist attitude about how you think music should be made. Its just music for gods sake. Either you like it or you dont. What the hell does how it got made have anything to do with how good it is ?

It amazes me that you nerds wont listen to an album out of some obligation to a dead guy. WHAT ? You dont think the guys from INXS give a shit about Michael ? He was their best friend, but they moved on .. keeping his legacy alive. And somehow, a bunch of music geeks cant move on. Like you know better. Ive always been a massive INXS fan , gutted when MH topped himself but I dont know him. I know the music.

MUSIC IS JUST FUN AND ENTERTAINMENT .. its not friggin politics.

Get over yourselves. Or dont and keep bitching about everything ... be a shithead instead.

And read this how you want .. its not an angry rant at all. I just think people are idiots. ie YOU.

and this isnt just for people who rag on the INXS thing ... people always click on threads at the org and shit on everything. POintless.

wicked. and the album RULES. HOT GIRLS. ooh yeah.

We all have different taste, and like you said, it`s not politics, but we are entitled to have our own opinions. By the way, a thread is meant to be a discussion, where you can express your feeling concerning the subject, and where you`re supposed to respect other people, and their views, even if they`re different than yours.

Regardless of you agree with how they got a new singer or if you're offended that they didn't rename the band you need to get over yourself. That band consisted of 6 members and with Hutch gone they have EVERY right to continue on with THEIR legacy however they see fit. Pretty Vegas is the biggest hit they've had even BEFORE Michael died, and their shows are selling out right and left. My office was buzzing with INXS yesterday and I seen more than one person walking around with the new CD. That hasn't happened in YEARS!! And the kicker, the album is AWESOME! Their tribute to Hutch on God's Top 10 is beautiful. If you were ever an INXS fan you'd be stupid not to buy this album or go see them live on the upcoming tour. If they play their cards right they have hit singles with "Devil's Party", "Hot Girls" and "Hungry".

so they were on The View yesterday and I enjoyed the song and enjoyed the band themselves..

my only criticism is that the new lead singer shouldnt dance like michael did...even if thats his nature swag he needs to cut it off cause it makes him look like a poser.
