Randy Crawford and the Crusaders: Streetlife

As a big fan of Randy Crawford, i love the song "streetlife"
Everything about it is great, the rhythm, the lyric, and Randy`s amazing voice.
The more up-tempo version from the Jackie Brown soundtrack is even better.

...You let the people see, just who you wanna be
And every night you shine, just like a super star
That`s how the life is played a ten cent masquerade
You dress, you walk, you talk
You`re who you think you are...

Absolutely love this song. Everytime I hear it, it takes me right back to when I was a kid and my parents would give their house parties and tell me to stay in the bedroom, only to make want to peek through the door as much as possible.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

I like it when songs can take you back in time, remember happy memories woot!
To me, it`s a song you can imagine living in, like it`s a dream, and you don`t want it to stop lol

I think this is Randy Crawford's best recording. Loved its inclusion in the Jackie Brown soundtrack.

The Jackie Brown version beats the original nod
Randy Crawford has A LOT of good songs, but i agree that this has to be her best. I also like

You might need somebody
Desperado (the ultimate version of this song)
Where there was darkness (better than Ross` original)
Almaz (haunting)
Give me the night (remix)
Knockin` on heaven`s door (best version of this song)
Last night at danceland (fun song)
One day i`ll fly away (haunting)
Rainy night in Georgia (worthy cover)
Who`s crying now
I`ve never been to me (her voice was at it`s best here)
When your life was low (love the lyric)

This is a song that really takes me back. I thought it was Stephanie Mills the 1st time I heard it. Good pick.
