The pic you chose for the front cover is arguably better than the original. In fact the packaging in general is better.

I would love Madonna to eventually do reissues like these and go on talk shows or do interviews to discuss these albums and how she relates to them now. Of course in interviews she is rarely asked about her music which is a shame.

Its a nice thought that shed pay as much attention to her re-issues as we would but it aint going to happen. Shes an artist that doesnt look back, and i cant see her spending a great deal of time on a bunch of re-issues. Anyhow, i have CD compilations of all her albums. Ray of Light...

I think this album was everybody's mantra for '98. And it couldn't have come along at a better time. I've always considered it the first album of the new millennium, and listening back to it, I still stand by that. It perfectly captured the spiritual uncertainty, but hopeful optimism of the future. Madonna was rejuvenated and on a mission. People were actually talking about her music. She was influential again. She seemed happy for the first time in years. I don't think this album will ever age because the subject matter and the sheer excitement for musical exploration is timeless. Very few records take me back to a time, a place and a headspace like "Ray of Light" does.

Now, as far as extras go, there isn't a whole lot of room. I could only add "Has To Be" and an instrumental edit of the Kruder + Dorfmeister remix for "Nothing Really Matters". I'm already working out a 2nd disc for all the important remixes, outtakes and b-sides. I'm treating these almost like those fancy, schmancy double disc reissues that a lot of folks are putting out these days.
