I was able to confirm that Sly changed the band's name, but nothing else. www.slyslilsis.com reported in August that Sly was producing Phunk Phamily Affair, and their web site now says "New Site Under Construction". I can only speculate what all this means. After seeing Sly at the last Knitting Factory show, you can bet I'll be there. Could this be the day fans have been waiting for? I can only hope!

HMMM??? too bad even if he plays its gonna be on some new gear (instruments)...most likely not gettin NITTYGRITTY like back in the days wahs...clavs...wurli's..farfisa's.....evolution often sucks when it comes to artist' judgement...IE: stevie..prince...the list goes on and on....just my 2 cents..

Not wishing to get over-excited, but I can't help wondering if Sly's plan is for Phunk Family/Family Stone to be his new backing band on any live dates he may have in mind ...

And I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sly doesn't crop up on backing vocals or even lead vocals on this proposed Phunk Family album.

Perhaps he is moving the chess pieces in place for a real (if cautious) comeback?

And I too would love to see some good new photos of the man as he is today.

I was told that since the band is now The Family Stone, planning and strategy for their debut is still developing. The debut of The Family Stone will be at a larger venue, but where and when hasn't been determined. The extent of Sly's involvement with the band is uncertain at this time.

Things seem to be evolving on a daily basis. At this point, we'll just have to wait and see what's going to happen. I would suggest anyone interested who wants to stay informed sign up for Sly and Vet Stone's newsletters at
