One of my all time favorite albums. It's weird how many Beatles fans slept on this one. Lyrically nothing is out of bounds from his pain in "Mother" to a pseudo open letter to Paul in "I found out". This was one of the 1st albums I made sure to download to my IPOD. | |

Well, I hate to go along with what all the other folks are saying but I also prefer Plastic Ono Band. Imagine is a swell album, but Plastic Ono Band is just a wee bit sweller. And both albums are MUCH better than his subsequent solo releases. | |

Plastic Ono Band singlehandedly changed the notion in my head that Paul had a much more successful solo career than John.
Lennon himself said that the ideas in Plastic Ono Band were sugarcoated in Imagine "for public consumption." Still great, though. And LilGish, Mind Games is highly underrated. Check this song out at:
