Awww...I love that one. I can understand how it would get annoying. The Things We Do For Love pissed me off because I felt like i'd been a victim of a bait and switch scam after I'm Not In Love.
I like that one, too, but yes...it's a big comedown after the perfection of I'm Not in Love.

It's already been mentioned, but I must agree with "Afternoon Delight" by Starland Vocal Band. That song wants to make me pour concrete into my ear canal so as to never have to hear that shit again.
I know I'll probably catch some shit for this, but I feel the same way about the Carpenters. All their stuff is just plain nauseating. I'm convinced that Karen didn't really didn't have bulemia, as I want to gag and throw up everytime I hear their stuff. She was just reacting to her own horrible crap. ----- [Edited 12/1/05 9:36am] Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. She wasn't bulimic - she was an anorectic. I love them, and I love her voice. Yeah, they had some corny crap, too but they're a favorite of mine. The nausea you're feeling isn't uncommon. I just seem to be immune to it. lol

My favorite is "rainy days and mondays", and "merry christmas, darling"

Anytime I hear that song, I think of the pilot episode of WKRP, where Johnny Fever plays a version by a gospel choir. The song is silly and schlocky to begin with, but adding that to the mix made it positively hilarious! An American Band by Grand Funk Railroad.
Actually, Grand Funk Railroad in general. On the unrelated plus side, Help Me by Joni Mitchell is fuckin gorgeous and I could listen to it for hours.
