yeah i'd have to agree, she most definitely isn't the first artist to lip synch during a half time show...in fact we all remember when MJ did a superbowl halftime show in the early 90's, he lip synched also....

i would think it would be very difficult to sing live during a game, although it is very possible to occur...

and personally coming from Mariah, i'd rather she lip synch anyway, because her live broadcasts (at the AMA's, the BET awards, and MTV Vid awards) she really didn't sound that good...

Yeah possibly, although i think MJ's problens are more wide spread than just beeing a substance addict - that guy has deep seated psychological problems and i think ultimately they'll prevent him ever being great again.

As for Mariah, i like her new stuff but i do think as a singer she's deteriorated. I listened to a live concert from her last tour, and shes lost some of the upper end of her range considerably. Im thinking the tight dresses cant help.....isnt singing all about controlled breathing????

Yeah, if you're a really big star -- that's customary nowadays. Insurance purposes and all that. A football game isn't a rock concert. So the place isn't set up to fully accommodate a vocalist. Still there are those who can pull it off.

Mariah Carey was always a disappointment to me, anyway. Clearly she's talented. But her choice of songs -- just rubbish. India.Arie, Joss Stone, even Dana Owens aka Queen Latifah can teach her a thing or two about song selection. She relies upon too many gimmicks instead of straightforward singing. She's a gorgeous girl and I think that may be the problem. Her beauty has carried her for so long until she relies upon it too much. The girl can sing..but she's too busy exploiting showing cheesecake and trying to be hip for anyone to notice...
