Remixes!! Here are some of my favorite remixes.
Randy Crawford: Give me the night (chill night mix) Michael Jackson: Rock with you (Frankie`s favorite club mix) & You are not alone (classic club mix) Aretha Franklin: Here we go again (morales classic mix) Deborah Cox: Nobody's supposed to be here (Hex Hector's club mix) Sarah Vaughan: Summertime (UFO remix) Gwen McCrae: Funky Sensation (MAW mix) Loleatta Holloway: Hit and Run (Walter Gibbons 12" Mix) What remixes do you listen to?

i'm not a big remix fan, but i usually tend to enjoy anything that william orbit or NIN does...there are some bowie and NIN remixes i like, and maybe a couple st. etienne and gary numan remixes i like. for the most part, i think remixes can get really obnoxious really fast - too much repetition, at the cost of losing the essence of the song.

I see you have Sarah Vaughan's Summertime on your list.....yeah that's a really good one.....it's from the Verve collection. If you like that one, I'm sure you'll like a lot of them. Most of the remixes from the Verve albums are pretty good. Tricky does Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit".....I love it, but I mean it doesn't compare to the original. All of Nina Simone's remixes from the Verve collection are good too, especially "Black is the Color of My True Love Hair". I think Verve:Vol.1 is the best out of the 3 series.

They can be annoying when they're club-dubby and repeat the same line over and over again. If they basically put the song over a house beat, all those are really useful for are clubs. But there are some REALLY creative remixes out there. I always site Bjork as the queen. Many times, she redoes the whole song from scratch and it becomes its own entity. Otherwise, she picks artists she's become friends with and trusts to handle her remixes. I'd say more often than not, her remixes are stellar and stack up with the best of her album material. "Telegram" is a good sampling, but taken as a whole her remixes are just MINDBLOWING. I still gotta hook you up.

Yeah, but that basically qualifies as a b-side.

I don`t like the album version, maybe this remix is better I know there are some remixes of "never miss the water" that should sound good, cause she screams her head off in that song

I didn't realize you had the "Debut" stuff. I should find out what all you've got. The "Vespertine" one really weren't all that. There were a few good ones, but that music is so lush and detailed, that remixes are not really necessary. She even said so around that time. But the "Post", "Homogenic" and "Medulla" ones are FANTASTIC!

I just visited amazon.com, and there`s a whole bunch of new stuff i didn`t know about. I haven`t heard any of her remixes... She is one of the most creative and unique artists of our time.

My christmas list has taken on a life of its own by now What about the family tree box, and her singles, or maybe the live CDs? Is it all worth having?

What about the family tree box, and her singles, or maybe the live CDs? Is it all worth having? Well, I think so. But The Family Tree box is pretty skimp. There's not much you'd need on there if you collected her singles which in my opinion are essential to her work. I'm not the hugest fan of live albums, but hers are done right. The "Unplugged" and "Vespertine live" ones are particularly stunning. If you're just starting to collect her singles, maybe a good way to go would be to look for "Bjork lot" on Ebay. You might get some great deals that way.

Yeah, Ebay is great when i`m looking for cd-singles, but it`s addictive Thank you for the tips and recommendations This site may be useful, to get some information on track listings. http://www.mattscdsingles.com/

Thank you for the tips and recommendations This site may be useful, to get some information on track listings. http://www.mattscdsingles.com/ If you want to take it easy or budget, I would recommend going after the singles with b-sides first. Her remixes are the best, but I would make sure you have all of the non-album songs. But once you start, you won't be able to stop. Bjork is a deadly obsession. [Edited 11/23/05 15:07pm]

I know there are a lot of Annie Lennox/Eurythmics fans here, how do you all like her/their remixes, "little bird", "waiting in wain", "revival", "sweet dreams", to name a few.
