Madonna starts talking about plans for New Tour!

MADONNA is hoping to pioneer a new live sound when she tours the world in 2006 by creating a hi-tech system she can plug into at every venue.

The pop superstar recently announced her plans to tour to promote new disco album CONFESSIONS ON A DANCEFLOOR and she's teasing fans by telling them it will be a surround-sound supershow.

She says, "We want to devise a sound system that's surround-sound, because the standard system in a sports arena is c**p for people watching, and it's c**p for people onstage."

Once you put your hand in the flame
You can never be the same
There's a certain satisfaction
In a little bit of pain
I can see you understand
I can tell that you're the same
If you're afraid, well rise above
I only hurt the ones I love

Hmm. It's rumored she's starting in Japan with her tour. That would probably be one of the best places to give it a try. Madonna's making sure everything's in line this time, it seems!

Looking forward to it. wink
Ooh, little darlin' if you're
free 4 a couple of hours (Free 4 a couple of hours)
If U ain't busy 4 the next 7 years (Next 7 years)
Say, let's pretend we're married and go all night

u2 wanted to use this new technology for their tour but it wasn't perfected in time. its actually really cool stuff. in addition to the surround sound aspect, there are ways that sound can be dispersed through spotlights. for instance, if a specific spotlight shines on one section of the crowd, only that section hears what that spotlight plays. its sounds really crazy but incredibly cool!

here's my idea...

MADONNA 'DEFYING GRAVITY ON THE DANCEFLOOR' WORLD TOUR 2006

This tour is a celebration of dance music. No ballads,no sad songs.A 2-hour extravaganza in which Madonna plays nothing but her dance hits. There will be four segments (or "acts",since her shows are like plays). Each act is devoted to a different dance period.Act 1 is the 70s disco segment. The stage is designed like a 70s disco straight out of "Saturday Night Fever".Act 2 is devoted to the 80s nightclub scene. The stage is now designed like a New York dance club (perhaps Danceteria, the New York nightclub club where Madonna got her start?).Act 3 is devoted the 90s techno/rave scene, and the stage now looks just like a rave.Act 4 is called the "Future Disco" segment, and this part of the show is devoted entirely to the new album.

ACT 1 (70s Disco flashback) the songs in this segment are slightly "re-invented" to sound very disco-y,as if they were all recorded in the late 70s.

"Everybody" (includes a bit of the Bee Gee's "Night Fever")
"Lucky Star" (includes a bit of Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell")
"Physical Attraction"
"Dress You Up"
"Into The Groove"
"Borderline"

ACT 2 (80s Nightclub flashback)

"Spotlight"
"Sidewalk Talk"
"Like A Virgin"
"Angel"
"Causing A Commotion"
"Where's The Party"
"Vogue"

ACT 3 (90s Techno/Rave flashback)

"Ray Of Light"
"Skin"
"Deeper And Deeper"
"Fever"
"Justify My Love"
"Music"

ACT 4 (Future Disco)

"Get Together"
"Jump"
"Sorry"
"Let It Will Be"
"Hung Up"

That sounds great but you're not being even slightly realistic? "Spotlight"? "Sidewalk Talk"? I wouldn't be shocked to hear her best out "Causing A Commution". I've been listening to both COAD and "The Holiday Collection" last week.

I like the idea of having the new songs at the end. It's like she is taking us through the history of dance music, from the 70s to the 2000s.We start in the late 70s then work our way through the 80s and 90s,and finally we get a taste of the future. This is a bold idea,to be sure, but Madonna is known for taking risks.I think it would be fantastic.

I chose rare songs like "Spotlight","Sidewalk Talk" and "Skin" because I didn't want this to be a typical, greatest hits-type show.I wanna hear some stuff that she has NEVER performed live. And since this is a celebration of her dance songs,I want the show to feature some of her underground dance tracks that didn't become major hits, like "Physical Attraction".

I wouldnt be too surprised if the show did take on something resembling the musical she was meant to be working on, you know where each section flashes back to a certain era of music, or dance music. That way she could incorporate jazz, rock, disco, house, it would be good thematically to do something like that, and would perhaps allow her to use some of the better unreleased songs from this project.

Song wise id like to hear everything off the new record (except maybe Like it or not and Isaac & Forbidden Love, not sure how well they'd work live).

Of her old songs, id definitely like to see mainly dance orientated stuff. I dont agree with those who say she should retire songs shes performed loads of times (Holiday, Vogue, Express Yourself, Music). You need your staple madonna tracks. She could still perform most of the new album and another 10-15 old tracks, and i really dont think obscurities would go down well with audiences of 30,000 people. Its nice for hard core fans, but for the kind of concert going audiences, they'd go down like a lead balloon.

So Id like to see:

Holiday
Borderline
Everybody
Over & Over (Perhaps alongside Jump as they're similar in message)
Dress You Up
Into The Groove (doubt she'll do this one though)
Live To Tell
Wheres The Party
Open Your Heart
Causing A Commotion
Like A Prayer (a dance version this time)
Express Yourself
Keep It Together
Vogue
Erotica (a cool reworked version)
Deeper & Deeper (an out an out disco version)
Rain
Take A Bow (just because shes never done it)
Sky Fits Heaven (i didnt like the way this was done on the DWT)
Ray Of Light (a less guitar driven version)
Mother & Father (a proper dance version)
Hollywood

I know she cant perform them all but those would be on my wish list.

I wouldn't complain about a setlist like that thumbs up!

it'll be fun to see what she comes up with. She recently said that she wants to mainly concentrate on the new album, but since there are only 12 songs on it,she will have no choice but to add some oldies. The idea of a "dance music tour" is intriguing, but something tells me that she will change her mind. She'll add ballads and make it much more complex than what I came up with.

than the Beast Within was a video opening to RIT. but Justify My Love has not been performed or heard on tour since the Girlie Show.

She only did Justify My Love on the Girlie Show tour. And at the end of the song, the dancers all danced to it.

From Liz Smith at the NY Post

MADONNA JOINS ELVIS

'ME AND ELVIS? Are you kidding?! I'm gonna tell my dad. Maybe that will impress him."

That was Madonna's reaction when we told the Queen of Pop that she has now tied the King of Rock 'n' Roll with the most top-10 singles ever — 36 each. (Her latest being the crazily infectious "Hung Up.") M had not heard the news yet. I guess she really does stay away from media! And at 47, touchingly, she still looks for Daddy's approval. The star called from London. I wanted her reaction to "Confessions on a Dance Floor" reaching No. 1 status in 25 countries, including the good old United States of America.

"It was my husband, Guy, who told me the album was No. 1 in America. I was shocked, stunned, happy. I said, 'We have to celebrate.' So we opened a bottle of champagne — not something I usually do, though I probably should do more of that — I had a glass, and then I sat and cried for 20 minutes. Really. So many conflicting emotions, but basically tears of joy. Don't let anybody tell you commercial success doesn't matter."

M ("everybody calls me M now, I never hear my own name!") is busy planning her next video for the second single, "Sorry." She says, "I want it to be a sequel to the 'Hung Up' video — what happens after she dances the night away because her boyfriend is so unavailable." And M is thinking about her "Confessions" concert tour, which might include smaller venues "where I can hear myself singing; I can see the faces!"

Madonna also wants to build a film around her current troupe of dancers, which includes the phenomenally talented Cloud and Hypnosis. "They are not just dancers. They're filmmakers and artists. Creative cyclones. I adore them." We spoke of broken bones — I recently shattered a wrist, she quite a few more — and she said it was terribly difficult coming back from that, to dance again. "Your 46th comeback!" I joked. She laughed, "Yes, I've lost track of how many times I've been written off." She paused. "Maybe that's the reason I cried when I heard about the record. Here's a big scoop. We're human, too."

UUmmm they danced to the Beast Within during the Girlie Show.

than the Beast Within was a video opening to RIT. but Justify My Love has not been performed or heard on tour since the Girlie Show.

thats three times...the songs a bore. i love the song but it creates zero audience energy. IMHO.
