"Rick James: Super Freak Live 1982" Another DVD I recently purchased and just watched (last night, anyway). The Stone City Band was on fire, the setlist was ace enough, and I applaud Rick's transparent enthusiasm, effort, and sense of humor as a performer. That said, it still wasn't the best show I've ever viewed, partly due to Rick's voice overpowering the band and partly due to his stage presence still not being THE greatest, despite, again, his commendable enthusiasm and audience interaction. He and his band's outfits were just gay, too ... (although I found his infectious smiling and excitement at points in the last third of the show adorable .. so sue me, I can't help but crush on the poor, misguided fiend ).

I have it and love it. This is when Rick ruled. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

I was hooked on that sprawling non-album ballad he performed, called "Big Day".

I also have the DVD and enjoyed watching it but I have a question. During one of the songs he's sitting at the piano and I don't think he's actually playing it. His hands are on top of the piano instead of on the keys. Does anyone know what i'm talking about?

I love it. It was great to hear the unreleased songs also. My favorite was "Freaky". The audience participation was a little too much but, other than that, it was a great show. Andy is a four letter word.
