Help Madonna reach #1 in the US Billboard album chart! From drownedmadonna.com:
Reports from HitsDailyDouble this week indicate that there's a close race between Madonna and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood for the #1 spot for album sales. The international Queen of Pop and the local star karaoke country singer have both been selling strongly this week, with Madonna having a slight edge, but because sales are so close things could easily change in either direction when the sales week period is over. If you live in the U.S. and haven't bought the Confessions on a Dance Floor album yet, be sure to buy it this weekend! If you have already purchased the CD for yourself, you should also consider also buying the separated tracks version of the album on iTunes. In addition to the continuous mix (that you hear on the CD), iTunes sells a non-continuous version with fade-outs which make for a less jarring listening experience when playing songs randomly on your iPods or other media players. iTunes sales of the album are also counted by Soundscan/Billboard for the Billboard 200. The holiday shopping season is almost here, buy the CD this weekend for friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, significant others, ex-es, whoever! Spread the word to other fans, fansites, forums and other people to buy this GREAT album this weekend.

Well, besides the Madonna fans on this site, i think you encouraged everyone to buy Carrie's cd.
I think this should be in the sticky, we've already discussed it there.

I bought th cd in a store & the tracks are seperated. I can program in the songs. Before the cd came out I kept reading this continous track business & I was expecting something like Lovesexy which is one big track. Its a regular cd just sounds like one big track if you play it straight thru.

I bought the mix on Itunes....not a bad purchase but it was dumb to get the deluxe edition since the video doesn't play well....Fucking Itunes videos!

I knew it would be like this with the album, with the music never ending but the tracks seperated.

I think this should be in the sticky, we've already discussed it there. Well, I think most people in this forum love Madonna or at least they are not Madonna haters so they may want to support her cd rather than Carrie's... [Edited 11/19/05 9:32am]

You know how those country singers sell, and she is coming from one of the US' highest rated shows which undoubtably gives her a good push.

That's why they created a Madonna sticky, so we could have our territory without being attacked.

lol...does it really matter if Madonna debuts at Number One or Number Two? Keep in mind that 'Ray Of Light' debuted at Number Two and never reached the Number One position in America. The 'Titanic' soundtrack kept it out of the top spot, but it still went on to sell millions.

Hitsdailydouble.com have their totals in Tuesday late afternoon. Soundscan (Billboard) releases their data Wednesday morning. They are often close but depending how close Carrie and Madge are be interesting if the results are different.
