DAMIEN RICE Ok this is a long shot but it's worth taking... a few weeks ago a friend played an album for me which I can't for the life of me remember the artist or album name 
He's a solo artist, English I think, the album was released in 2003 and is very acoustic, very laid back... the album name is something like "U" or "O" or something very simple like that too I can't for the life of me remember the album cover is very plain too it's a kinda beige cover with a little bit of artwork on it but that's all

the album (I think it's his debut) "O" is amazing... have either of you heard any of his other work? or anyone else for that matter - anyone know whether it's as good as his debut? | |

Ive heard it too Natisse, I dotn have it but Ive always meant to get it! I love the song Cannonball.
I think Its his debut...? Its quite easy to find in one of the big record stores though, should only be about a tenner. | |

he's just wonderful. i found him a couple of years agao by way of afriend who loves indie irish music.

That song that seems to be never ending in the movie 'Closer' - The Coalminer's Daughter or something like that. It suits the movie, but I blame him for the swarm of blandy shit male artists overloading the charts right now.... well, OK, James Blunt/Bland/Cunt - HATE HIM, and that spazzy Daniel Powter with that silly hat.
