HEY! ... they had a TOTAL other background than EW&F . Maurice did jazz-stuff before with Ramsey Lewis .. therefore alotta jazz was put in their style . SUN was straight from the Dayton-Ohio pond .... I just CAN't compare those 2 ... SUN layed some se-ri-ous heavy grooves which are in no way to be seen beside EW&F's influences . Maybe Sun's not your cup-a-tea , but they DEFINITELY put a spot on the funk-map . Their jams were TIGHT ! | |
