Sorry about posting in the wrong spot guys. Anyway, "Glow is pretty weak, but nothing is worse than "The Flag." At least "Wonderful" has Loosey's Rap on it.

You and ya co-worker have wack RJ radar then LOL!

Okay what about majority of RJ who helped made Glow a hit do they have wack radar too or bad taste? Glow happened to be a bigger RJ hit than some of his funkier songs.

Hunny I am only 25 and I don't see anything wrong with my RJ radar. I love funk and I have popular to the rarest funk in my collection and I still am a true funk lover even if I likes Glow.

I'm sorry but I don't remember it being a hit and I am a huge Rick James fan.

I like "Hard To Get" much better than "Super Freak". They are similar but "Hard To Get" is much funkier.

I was talking Glow single and not the album. You right the album didn't sold very well and I was referring to I like Glow the single. I was disappointed with the album myself and it was my least favorite RJ albums. Beside Glow the single did well in the R&B and dance charts, but I don't recalled it ever be a top 40 hit.

Hope I didn't confused anyone but I thought we were discussing about Rick James favorite songs, not albums? shrug

Rick hardly ever made it to the pop charts except for "Super Freak" and the "Street Songs" album. I don't remember "Glow" doing well on any of the charts. The single may have possibly made it but it may have not gone very high up the chart. I do remember that particular album being Rick's first step downward though.

It's cool though. We all have our favorites. At least you have the good taste to be a Rick James fan so you're cool with me. biggrin

Here's a little info that I found on Google groups.

Disco Music released during 1985:
Blue Feather - "Who Will Be the One" - electro-R&B-disco
Rick James - "Glow" - electro-disco; reached #1 Club for 2 weeks in
the USA in summer 1985, #5 R&B in the USA in 1985

You right we do have our favorites and we both are big RJ fans so you cool with me too. Also Rick did had massive R&B hits but not too many pop hits.

Well I was only four that summer so that sums pretty much of my memory of 85.

Besides, I was lucky to have relatives who were funk lovers and also my local r&b station that played funk hour on Saturdays old school special (RIP) and therefore I became an obsessed funk fan when I was thirteen. A lot of kids around my age at the time thought I was weird because they listened to Snoop Dogg and whatever was hot back in 93 while they heard me played music such as Prince's Dirty Mind or some Bootsey Collins and I didn't appreciated the early 90s rap until into my adult years.

Therefore I am too busy to find and collecting late 70's to early 80's singles I like to keep up with the most of crap nowadays music. I am also a collector of finding rarest New Jack and rap from 1978-86 songs too but that is another issue. hhehehe.

I can relate to you. I listened too Snoop Dogg and other music that was current but I when I was in high school in the early 90 I liked a lot of 70's and 80' artist also. Its rared that I listen to early 90s rap.
