Love the tune. Love the artist.
The album cuts are deep and all his hits smoke. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

The Breakin Away album is the best thing he ever did IMO. Al Jarreau is a great artist and a great live performer. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

A true gem. I don't remember this one as much as some of the others. I love so much of his early albums

I'm still hoping one day a performance from the late 70's or early 80's where he supposedly mimicked perfectly every instrument in his orchestra on stage will surface. I hope it was captured somehow back then.

Never heard of Al Jarreau doing that but i'm pretty sure Bobby McFerrin has. Al would blow McFerrin off the stage. Al was doing that yearssss before Bobbie could even say a'capella

I doubt that seriously. Bobby McFerrin's second album was a complete a cappela record... ...The Voice. And toured unaccompanied performing the material. Bottom line is that they're both great vocalists. Just don't sell McFerrin short. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I'm just saying Al did all of that way before McFerrin and is well versed in acapella. Im not selling Bobby short (no pun intended with Bobby Short name) but it's sort of like saying "Hey, Ive heard of Joni Mithcell but there's this one woman named Sara McLaughlin who..."

Not my intent. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my original statement. I said I hadn't heard Al Jarreau "mimicing instruments", not that he'd never done it. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. "Tomorrow Today" is a great CD. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

'Breaking Away'-album was good, everything else quickly became tired.....live he is a vocal-spastic who gets carried away with it, he got on my nerves!
