Z Cult Favorite/The Stooges-"I Wanna Be Your Dog" Released in 69, this song still to this day, has one of the coolest riffs and groove in one song. Another cut that was ahead of it's time. It's just a well written jam with a hella cool chorus. I love The Stooges. They had several cuts that were edgy and funky at the same time. Even though Iggy is well known, The Stooges are very underrated. Who digs "I Wanna Be Your Dog"? SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

YES!!! "Raw Power" is my favorite Stooges joint. The production is bad, but it gives the LP that "raw" vibe (just like KISS - "Hotter Than Hell"). "I Wanna Be Your Dog" is classic. Mick Jagger couldn't cover this if he wanted to. I remember seeing Lenny Kravitz and Gina Gershon jamming on this on TV. Good pick Brutha B!

theAudience said: Man, I have ALL of The Stooges joints. Even the shit Iggy did with Bowie was cool. I just prefer The Stooges. They combined The Stones and Jim Morrison and went buck wild and created their "own" thing. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

The Sex pistols are the only band that's done a good stooges cover that I've heard, monster magnet and Guns N Roses both did average covers.
The Pistols did a cover of I wanna be your dog. [Edited 11/17/05 16:36pm]

This song just doesn't quit. Wow, that's cool, lil. How so, player. I mean, that's interesting. Musically it did, I mean it’s so raw, but it just makes you wanna move. It has all the elements that I like about music. It’s one of those songs, and the stooges are one of those bands that broaden your notion of what’s possible in music and life. I can’t think of anyone in the generation I begin to listen to music that could generate such energy, a band like Nirvana are lightweights compared to the stooges. Iggy is so real it hurts.

U right, man, That's why I dig them so much. Iggy straight didn't give a fuck and neither did their band. They were what true rock is all about. Iggy wasn't frontin'.
