"I've Just Begun To Love You" by Dynasty This is one of my favorite jams from the early 1980s.....very Shalamar-sounding.....
Give you more than...you bargained for girl....and I've just begun to love you.... I don't want no other....to be my lover....and I've just begun to love you. Now I have officially woke this dead place up this morning. Andy is a four letter word.

Shalamar, Dynasty, The Whispers, and Lakeside were all on Solar Records. All the groups had a similar sound except for Lakeside. I read somewhere that the guys from Lakeside used to be worn out when they had a concert because, not only did they perform themselves, they had to be the live backup band for Shalamar and The Whispers. Solar Records was like a mini-Motown in the early 80s.So many great bands, artists and songs.Remember Carrie Lucas? Lakeside deserves a thread of their own

This is Funny, I was just in the middle of making some Solar compilation CDs (there was actually a multiple Cd set out in the 90's, called " The Solar Records Story", but it's out of print now , so I'm makin' my own, dammit!!)

They are one of my favorite bands. I did a thread on them months ago. It's about time for another one though. Andy is a four letter word.

They certainly have enough stuff to have a box set. I forgot Midnight Star was also on Solar Records. Andy is a four letter word.

There was also a live double album from Solar Records from either 1979 or 1980. It contained songs like:
The Second Time Around - Shalamar Right In The Socket - Shalamar All The Way Live - Lakeside And The Beat Goes On - The Whispers I've Just Begun To Love You - Dynasty That was just one record. I friend of mine had one of the records and he had lost the other one. He gave it to me after I was admiring it in his collection. When I got it home and played it, the entire album was scratched up to hell and back. I threw it away. . . [Edited 11/17/05 7:39am] Andy is a four letter word.

I used to LOVE this song! I especially liked the long version with the added lyrics "Girl, I feel it last-ing longer when you get stronger..." and the guitar work was great in that song. A perfect answer to the IDIOTS who think that guitar=rock sound.

The long version of this song is a must-have! I love the breakdown where you can really, really, really hear that funky bassline

Ha! I LOVE THE ORG!!! I thought I was the only guy who remembered Dynasty. My favorite tune of theirs was "Here I Am": I've got a Heart Full of Love And No-Body, to Call My Own... Sounds of Los Angeles Records. What a shame they are not around anymore... Some people tell me I've got great legs...
