I`m not so familiar with tears for fears, but i`m a BIG fan of Oleta Adams woot! It`s strange though, i don`t like woman in chains and bad man`s song, but the song me and my big ideas is a wonderful song, with amazing vocals by Oleta. Anyone else know that song?

I loved her involvement SO much, I wish they had become a trio after that....

Missed opportunity.

You`re right. She brought soul to their music, her voice is like any others, and she sounded good together with them. I think i`m gonna start an Oleta thread, and see what other people on the org know about her nod

I love Tears for Fears. When I was an idealistic tree huggin' hippie type at the age of 18, I thought that Sowing the Seeds of Love was the greatest song on earth!!!!

Woman In Chains is a great song too, as is Break It Down Again.

That's from the Raoul & King of Spain sessions. All the b-sides are great from that CD. And Saturnine Martial & Lunatic CD is a great compilation of their B-sides up through Elemental, as Matt mentioned.
ELAHE gets my vote for Best CD of 2004. I still listen it to regularly, which is rare for me as I listen to a lot of music. I've since got their entire back catalog.
They rereleased ELAHE in the UK with two extra tracks which I still haven't heard.
Anyone heard and if so how do they compare to rest of CD?

I haven't heard them yet, but a good friend of mine snagged one recently, and he's been raving about the bonus tracks, saying they shouldn't have been left off the US release.

Apparently, the UK edition is sonically superior as well. My bud claims that the mastering is way better, and that you hear all sorts of things that you miss on the US edition.

If thats the case I need to hunt down UK version. Not only for B-sides but if the sound is even better, than it's a must own. What would be cool is if they released ELAHE on a DVD-audio or dual disc with the whole album in 5.1 surround sound and bonus tracks, videos etc. There is so much going on it needs a 5.1 mix to hear it all.
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

GREAT SONG! Just as good as any of the songs she contributed to SoL.

Did you see her on the SoL tour? She opened the show with her doing "I Believe" on the piano! Incredible!

My understanding was that Curt and Roland made the offer during the Seeds of Love tour, but she wanted to do her own thing. Nothing wrong with that, but I would have loved to have her as a "third" member as well.

I've always loved Roland's guitar solo at the end of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".

Actually It was guitarist Neil Taylor who does that ending solo, but Roland usually gets credit for it Roland just did the first solo, in the middle of the song, the rhythm thing.... Neil also does the guitar solo on the song, "Broken"...

Neil played with TFF up through the Seeds of Love tour...He and drummer Jimmy Copley had put together a rock band called Dogwood, and they put out an album through the internet called Toothpick's Pillow...He was also working on a solo album, but I'm not sure what happened to it...

...btw, Curt and Roland say that the solo that Neil did on Everybody Wants to Rule the World was the First Take! Kool.....
