Remember "the five heartbeats"?..... There is a song on the soundtrack to the movie called "bring back the days". Lovely song, well there is a album by the same group of people..... They were called Truth inc are? 1992, they released their self titled album. Very weird album, 14 tracks. 1 half soft rock, one half rnb. Some uptempo newjack stormers, and slow jams ("sex on the beach") "the very best of me" comes straight after newjack stormer "my favourite girl". So bizarre, "the very best of me" is so diane warren. Its a grand power ballad and a superb one to boot. Good gospel like voices (though not delivery) by the leads. So, a all black act doing rock power ballads? It happened. Love the album, such a shame it didn't even get promoted. [Edited 11/16/05 17:09pm] | |

I can't speak for the soundtrack, but the movie was a fine piece of work in spite of Robert Townsend's tendency to be schmaltzy. I loved it. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
